I have noticed that Latest posts of my blog is at the top of google search results. Thus I will get a lot of search traffic for my new posts.

But it never last for longer. After almost 5 days it will go back to the usual stage.
So my advice is to edit and update your old blog posts regularly and be active with all your posts. This will make google re-index your posts and gives a lot of new traffic.

Have anyone experienced this before? Is this a new trick by google to show the latest articles at the top search results?

thats the way it is actually where fresh content take the lead. specially if you are targetting a low volume keyword and have a blog that gets frequent visit from googlebot, you will make it to the front page for a day or 2 but that wil not last for long. enjoy while it lasts

Why not just build links to the page (or create content worthy of links) and then you will naturally rank higher and it WILL stay in the top of the SERP's. Why bother doing something for a temporary result when for pretty much the same amount of total effort you can make it permanant? You might even be able to just flow some pr that way and get it up there.

The only matter is google Needs fresh content?
Then why it is putting articles down when it became old?

Who said that Google puts articles down when they become old rankings not only depend upon the quality content but also the no. of backlinks but that is also true that you'll only have a fairly no. of links when you provide something useful.
