How long does it take for google to recognize backlinks?

    Hi,

I have recently launched a new website. I just want to know how long does it take for Google to recognize backlinks to my site. I am currently generating backlinks by posting on different forums, blog commenting and directory submission. It has been a week now but still there are 0 backlinks to my site according to Google.

Yahoo is relatively quicker than Google in recognizing backlinks.

Does anyone have any idea how long does it take for Google to recognize backlinks to my website?

If you add your links to a frequently updated site google gets them in 1-2 day and you can see some actions on search ranks in 3-4 days.

Yeah expect google to pick them up in the next couple of days, try to keep adding to the backlinks daily but make sure that you dont get to many at once or goolge will think the minks are unnaturall.

It depends on where the backlinks are from. For example, it only takes a few days to recognize links from Digg, but sites crawled less frequently will naturally take longer, sometimes up to a month or longer.

If your backlinks come from good quality (good according to Google) sites then only Google lists them and better quality links take very less time to appear I have seen Google pick up links for my site in less the 4 days and some in 1 month.

Well I have seen some of the posts from digitalpoint getting listed in Google in just 2 days so it looks like Google crawls DP very regularly.

Depends on how often Google spiders the pages with the backlinks. I've seen it take up to a week.

The link: operator in google only reports on a sampling of links. Because the google algorithm is quite sensitive to links, in my opinion, they have chosen to make reverse-engineering more difficult by not disclosing all the backlinks that they have indexed for a page or domain.

Normally, it will take about 1-2 weeks to get the effect of your backlinks. However, if you can get backlinks from high traffic pages or sites, google normally used to visit those sites very frequently, So, when google visits your link, you can see effect on your SERP and organic traffic.

Google doesn't list every backlinks to your website, but yahoo does. Thats why you think yahoo is quicker. But I believe that Google is faster than Yahoo in indexing websites, so happened to me. If you links are listed in Yahoo, sure google knows about them, but it may not list them.

I agree. Give it some time and try Yahoo site explorer. I think on average, some links take up to a few weeks, but if it's a really good site with some juice, you could see it within hours.

I agree absolutely true, Google doesn't lists them all this doesn't means that Google doesn't know about the links it does but it just doesn't lists it whereas Yahoo lists all the links that it can find.

So how to guarantee Google lists the links to your site? are you talking about main index and supplemental index? I think only Google know the right answer; I am just curious of your thoughts.

Backlinks totally depend upon administrator of that particular website and traffic and request on that site.
