In terms of an everyday personal blog, how do they fare with Adsense and making money online? I know a lot depends on the content and time put into promotion, but can I get some tips for driving traffic too, and generating money from a blog.
If you want to make money with a blog you must have a focused topic! If you just write about your everyday experience there is no money in that!
I've heard this in the past, but if I had enough blogs about a particular subject, would I have a slight chance of success. Also, does anyone here have a successful personal blog?
Personal blogs do work and can make money but you gotta make sure you choose keywords carefully adsense should work well with this type of blog but placement of the adds is key "like in the rss feed" & etc.. Also add affiliate links or banners to things people would be interested in for that topic or niche. If you have several blogs in the same topic then interlink them this will make more PR juice for them. I had started a blog before and it was aimed at one niche. I started adding posts I was interested in or off topic once in awhile, I figured why not it's my blog I can do whatever I want with it. I started getting traffic from some of those posts and they weren't liking that I was mixing things up. I could tell from the low click thru's and comments I was getting. I believe once your blog is more established then you can start adding different topics but until then you will probably have a hard time keeping readers and making sales other than from adsense. You can get a lot of traffic just by using good keywords and SEO but it's not going to be "money traffic". A blog that is focused and targeted towards one niche or idea will get in the serps faster and will make money from it quicker. I would be careful on adding adsense as your main money maker. Don't plaster adsense all over your blog. I have seen and read to many times where people had adsense on the homepage right in plain view of the reader almost like they wanted people to click them. Okay, then they changed those adsense adds to affiliate links and they were making 6 times more money then with the adsense. Even if you get less clicks on the affiliate links you still make a heck of a lot more money from 1 sale then the few cents per click from your adsense. In a nutshell, yes personal blogs could work and if it's about many different topics then make sure you are targeting good keywords and you'll probably do best with adsense. If you want to make as much money you can quickly then I would stay with one topic or one niche until your site is more established and has authority. Checkout Johnchow's blog for instance, it's a internet marketing blog but he writes about cars and fine dining. Yet it is still in the top ten for internet marketing blogs. I bet he didn't start off by posting about cars and restaurants when he first started his blog. I hope this helps!
First, you can build your own blog. Then try to make it commercial. The market value is all depended on yourself inclding how to manage it and how to promote it. And you should also consider the configuration of the blog hosting, for sometimes the package you bought can't be upgraded,it will be a loss if your blog is suspended for the traffic brought by more and more visit.
Any tell me that in the free wordpress blog how to add google ads. Help me in this meter. my blog is seotrend dot wordpress dot com. Thanks
No way to add Adsense to wordpress.com blog. I would recommend you switch to Blogger or Wordpress self-hosted blog
Blogs are always doing great. As said by "knight1 " on above thread, you need to be focused on your chosen topic and populate keywords on each post. Try to get traffic from Google or other search engine. You will definately start monetizing it after certain amount of time.
Personal blogs CAN work but you need an associated niche. For example, relationships. Weightloss. I think sometimes the personal touch can make you seem authentic and credible. But you also need to be blogging about some level of success in those niches. With weightloss, pics work, and ACTUALLY losing weight with a variety of systems. Just don't go blogging about your dog UNLESS you've got a CPA product to sell LOL...
I've seen blogs of all types do well online in various niches and writing styles, and the key thing to realize is at first not to get too obsessed with writing to make money as the money will come if you stick with your blog(s) The main way of gathering more traffic is to build up some really good blog content and make it useful and interesting, so that others will link to it and even subscribe to your blog, this type of blog content is often called evergreen or pillar article content that is the main backbone of your blog, this will be content that never goes out of date and can always be counted on for quality information, of course you have to keep updating with more pillar content. They say however that a blog can start to be successful anywhere from between 6 months and 4 years, depending on what marketing factors you use to build your blog online.
Thanks for all the feedback, guys. It seems like as long as I have good content, and the site is somewhat focused on a niche or two I'll do fine.
