Also take a look at their backlinks on yahoo. Look at the anchor texts to see what keywords they are targeting that is also consistent with the on-page optimization in the source code.
Look up their domain on http://spyfu.com and http://compete.com. It'll tell you which keywords are driving the most traffic to the site if that's what you are looking for.

Forget about your competitors' keywords. Focus on the keywords that are going to bring the most targeted qualified traffic to your (client's) Web site and get them to convert. Once you know what THOSE keywords are, THEN look to see who you have to compete with when targeting those keywords, see what they're doing right (and emulate them), and what they're doing wrong (so you can not only avoid the same mistakes but also exploit them).
