A note to all DP members

I have come to realize that the importance of post count is seemingly not true here on DP. I have read through so many threads, and I see dozens upon dozens of members with multiple-thousand posts, and over half of these posts are in the General chat section. Why?

    Is this necessary?

Why are you not out making money? Why are you wasting DP bandwidth.

    Rant over. Please flame.

Well it depends, if they are engaged in some discussions, feel free by all means to use the General Chat. But if the members are still posting to increase their posts with invalid or spammy posts, they will be infractioned and the post may be removed. We are a forum, we definitely welcome discussions, on all our forums and not just General Chat. But for spams, members are advised to to spam at their own risk, if you value your DP account, don't spam, no forum welcome you not even General Chat.

Thank you for such a nice answer, wisdomtool. It is your kind of posting that I appreciate. Long and detailed, and not just to cure boredom or raise your post count.

This is not necessary. However, general chat is for you to enjoy some posting and make friends with other members. Of course, DP is controlling the spamming post, if you are trying to pump your posts, you still will get infraction.

Frankly speaking, not all the member trying to make the money at DP. DP is one of the best forum to get information and learning too.

Post count really didnt bother me.... because at a certain stage everyone is new to every forum but that doesnt challenge ur skills ... may be credibility...

I like posting on here sometimes while I'm multi-tasking. It passes the time and I go between here and some of the business sections. Of course, I don't have thousands of posts either lol...

Don't worry. Those who are not serious about internet marketing won't last long here or even in the industry. Spamming is a form of laziness.

If nobody say something on a forum, can you call it a forum?

I noticed even posters with a long term memberships with a large amount of posts getting banned i guess even they over step the boundaries to last so long and then get banned ....
Some forums are charging for a "gold"section for more exclusive rights to there forum what i have noticed with this forum all the ratbags seem to disappear once it costs money to read a forum...i would pay to read this forum if that meant less rubbish to filter through,,,

Why are you worried so much about it ? :D

Just because you have got 107 posts ?

Better make more money rather than posting such type of threads !

Most other forums i have noticed now seem to have post counts to not include those made in general chat areas for this reason so its a focus on quality and contribution rather than quantity

But in saying that everyone is here to learn and freely discuss and share ideas which is pretty hard if people only post in certain areas bcos other posts have no value - you should not deter or penalize people from talking about certain topics. So it depends on the aim or agenda of the forum. DP is more laid back and not just a marketplace so people can talk about any topic and it is has equal value.

yea speak for yourself why you are wasting DP bandwidth posting this crap, and just because i'm here chatting doesn't mean i'm not earning money, there's something called outsourcing. You have a lot to learn it seems.
