XP any day. Vista is unstable with lot of bugs.
It also hangs often, wherein the only option is to reboot the system

I have been using Vista Home premium for almost 16 months now without any crashes or hang ups
I like the interface where in everything is neatly arranged in the case of XP:eek:
    Love it!

For me its vista, it's easy to use and very visually appealing. But XP is cool too. Vista may have had bugs to work out in the beginning, but now it's perfect and a wonderful operating system.

For speed on a old system you'd want XP. For speed on a new system that has lots of resources you'd want Vista. I have a XP laptop and a Vista laptop but prefer the Vista laptop because it's faster.

I prefer XP. Some aspects of Vista seem to take up a lot of ram (Aero and the sidebar).

Too many games are buggy with Vista so XP if you play a lot of games.
Microsoft should know better......perhaps they did.....hmmmm

    I have, leopard and XP:p
so when I want to do something I can't on Mac, then I switch over to XP.
Anyway, Vista is crap. Don't even think about it.

I will skip vista and wait for windows7..

xp will discontinue support after 2014 only, that time, windows7 will be very saturated and cool to use it.

    just my 2 cents

Windows 7 is better then both, offers speed of XP and other features of XP. I've been using it for 2-3 weeks not. WIndows 7 Final RTM is out but you will find in retail shops on 22nd OCt.

XP is better. More perfomance and stable. Vista, too much animation.
