What happens to PR if a site with 0 PR is submitted to yahoo directory for $300? Does it get pr4-5 for sure? $300 is a lot of money and it could be spent elsewhere.
    how about traffic?

There is no guarantee of PR4 or 5 from the Yahoo Directory. And you get no traffic from it. Nowadays people just search instead of browsing a directory.

There is no guarantee neither in raise of PR nor Traffic with the submission in yahoo directory. Its a matter of quality backlink. You can outsource your seo work with that money which can bring lot more links ... :)

There cannot be any gurantee on SEO, However, I don't think google will like paid links and offer you more PR.
Because, google always love natural link building....

You should consider submitting to a few quality directories rather than submitting just to Yahoo! Add content to your site, stay simple, promote your site...one directory listing for $300 is a bit too expensive IMO. Keep your focus away from PR if your site is new...

Your $300 may be better spent elsewhere than a Yahoo dir link. BELIEVE ME, you will NOT get a PR 4-5 by just submitting to ANY directory, let alone one. They are becoming less and less relevant, nevertheless, it will help. Very few ones will.

Yeh, probably better off to spend that type of money elsewhere. There is just no way you will get PR 4-5 just by submitting to that directory. Just won't happen...

I would be useless. You can buy some more links from somewhere else for this amount. Yahoo directory links give no any guarantee on your PR or ranking.

No, better to spend your money and time to list in other directories.

    No No No!

Buy 100 articles with 20 links each for $300

You can get packages that cheap.

Then you'll have 100 articles on your blog/site and 2000 links

If you understand how PR is calculated you would know that typically no single link is going to jump you from PR0 to PR4 or PR5...

That being said... IMO whether or not the link is worth $300 depends on whether you think having a link in the Yahoo! directory will drive you traffic IN ADDITION to any SEO benefit that you might gain from it.

If your niche is something that people search for a lot on Yahoo! then perhaps it's worth it simply from a traffic perspective. But if not, IMO it's not worth the $300 JUST for the SEO benefit from that single backlink.

I would base my decision on whether or not the link will give you traffic... the SEO benefit should be a bonus.

I dont think that it would help your PR because the link you are gonna have anyways willbe deep inside the Yahoo Directory which itself is not going to have a decent PR 4 or 5. But as far as SEO is concerned you are getting a quality link and that from Yahoo so that could help.

But still I feel $300 for 1 link is too much I would be spending to somewhere else. I would only buy a link there if that could bring me traffic or I have too much money.

Yahoo directory is very good for SEO.I have seen sites boost their rankings just by signing up to Yahoo.$299 might sound a lot,but in the long run it really does help
