What is the age of your domain?

Are you targeting your website in India only or?

What is the top level domain ..is it co.in or .com??

If your site ranks well in Google, then there's no reason to rank worse in Yahoo as Google's ranking criteria is more tough than Yahoo. Anyway if its really happen to you, do some research on Yahoo related to ur site-content. Yahoo likes meta-tags, so writing a long, descriptive meta-tag can help you rank good. Increase keyword density on ur site. And don't forget to use yahoo answer community and ehow articles, both these help you rank better.

I never got much luck with Yahoo but i think yahoo checks META tags very carefully so keep focus on meta and on page optimization so check these things!!

Yahoos first preference is content of your site. Try to get quality content for your site and also quality back links too.

when you're good in google you're not that good in yahoo. I observed that in my sites. their algorithm is different than the other. I tried applying different optimization I incline in yahoo but decline my results in google. something like of a weighing scale.

I don't know to other seo but it's my observation. But I know there are good optimizers who can optimize both.

Yahoo is probably going to be changing their algorithm soon when the whole deal with Microsoft goes through. You should focus more on Google/Bing.

Get more backlinks from .com or .in domains, that will help you. Keep on getting backlinks, as well as make sure that your content is optimized very well for that keyword, becuase, Yahoo loves content a lot rather than backlinks and all. But be careful, when you optimize your site for yahoo, you may loose your rank on google. Have to look into those too....
