Hello, I am into the blog building-flipping business. So I am about to start a new project. So before that I would like your feedback on the question Would you like to buy a .info domain over a .com domain if there is sufficient income being generated? I have had cases where people offered be about 500$ less for projects just because the site was a .info domain name. However I would like to hear what DPians would like to say about this
Hi, according to me the priority of .info domain names are always behind .com and .net domains. But in certain cases they are leading. If the site is really making good revenue I don't think that it will be a bad idea to buy the site.
Thanks for your input. So whats your experience with .info's getting search engine placements in SERP's? BTW anyone know where I can register a .info domain for 5 or 10 years?
.info domains are a good start for flipping!! I have over 60 .info domains ready to flipping and other over 100 I have sold in the last months... For some domains is not important the name but the content...
ofcourse depends on the type of the domain i would buy it if it's a good short keyword that can have good SE ranking and i would also buy it if it's 3L or 4L .info
What if the domain is 10-15 words long? Would you be interested in the site as a whole based on the rankings and profit it generates? How much will you be willing to pay more if it was a .com domain?
10-15 words? Hell no or do you mean 10-15 characters i guess 10-15 chars well if it's a good keyword and has good ranking than it wouldn't matter to me as long as it has potential. I wouldn't be interested if it doesn't have good ranking and even if it was a .com
I personally would never by a .info.. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from all the .tv's I bought 9 years ago
If I'm intending to build a brand with the site, then an .info is a strict no-no. But if it already generates decent profit, then why not?
they are good the serp doesnt depends on .com orr info they depend on content backlinks and age of the site you can register .info domains here http://namecheap.com/ all the best..
i dont like .info domain names but i know one thing that domain doesnt matter much when you have a site. i have seen many .info domain names getting very high traffic!
I think it depends on content, keyword reseach and overall the site. I buy .info for certain flipping, the .com I usually keep for whitehat sites.
So people are still blinded the the cheapness of the .info domain and from the feedback I got I believe that I could be losing potential clients just because of the domain name. Better stick with .com
I know. The main thing I was concerned with is that since I build and flip websites I must see what the buyers look forward to. Even if I manage to rank a particular site for a good keyword, If the buyer devalues the site just because it has a I-THINK-LOOKS-SPAMMING-EXTENSION then there is really no point.
Well, search for keywords "page rank" in google and the first site that pop ups is a dot info site That proves whatever i want to say.
