Banner ads that display your city

I'm looking for a banner ad publisher that can display the city a user is in based on the user ip address. I've seen singles ads where it displays: FIND SINGLES IN: NEW YORK. And I happen to be sitting in New York.

Do you guys know which companies do these?

    Thanks!

I have seen this done with normal text, it can be easily achieved using PHP and incorporated into a text ad, you can Google it :). As for an image, I honestly haven't seen it before, sorry.

I have been looking for that answer for the longest time also.

That's a pretty neat feature to have.

I think it definitely helps with sales.

    PlentyOfFish.com heavily does this.

I think our best bet is to look for a programmer who knows how to do this.

I have a script that will do that in text but I would have no idea how to incorporate that into a banner ad. That would be cool to have though.

How can it be harder for banners?

In the html, isn't the the code that is put in the text the same as the banner?

Anywy, for a quick solution around it, put that text underneath or on top of a picture, put a nice border around it, and, voila, there is your banner.

Well, sort of, but done right, it is just as good.

Perry - what I have is a javascript. I'll play around with it and see if I can make something nice. In that I'm a borderline idiot, it may take some time.

If I get it looking clean, I'll post the results and if anyone would like it, I'd be glad to give it to them.

Yeah, please post the page if you get it up.

I'm no expert in coding, shit, far from it, but I'm thinking put the border in, and then just copy and paste the text and the picture into the border.

Then again, the code may not stay intact.

I couldn't figure out how to make it work in a banner.

If you want the java script, shoot me a PM and I'll give it to you... it works great when I use it for text and maybe you can figure out how to make it work in a banner.
