Just created Facebook fan pages for my sites

I recently read that a fan page is a good way of grabbing and building up an audience of visitors rather than just losing them every time.

My sites get around 500 hits per day so I'm just going to see if I get any interest, as I have placed the widget supplied by Facebook on the page.

I feel it could give a bit more warmth and a bit more of a community together, not to mention the ability to send out information and contact them again.

Facebook is pretty big in the UK now, not sure what its like elsewhere, just going to see if I get many joining

I think it's pretty much big elsewehere too. Definitely boosts visitors to a site, but I'm not sure if it's sustained or what.. . :)

Right yeah I'l have to see. I have around 500 friends on there, not many of mine have joined lol but they ain't gonna be interested really. I'm just going to have to rely on people joining through the site. Has anyone got any examples of a successful website fan page?

    Facebook ownz myspace...

Yeah, I will be trying the 'fans of' code on a couple of websites as well, one of which is in the redesign stage right now, and the other one is a small business site I did for a friend. It will at least add something to the site, if it doesn't help with traffic, however, I think it will.

    Good luck with your sites!

I think the fmylife fan group on facebook has a lot of users, but then again it's a popular site on its own.
