How do you search products to promote? What are the criteria you are looking for?

Hey Pete, I'm looking to take on some new products and I was wondering how you selected yours. Do you just test new products willy nilly or do you have some method or system to picking out a new product to test?

No. Figure it out for yourself like the rest of us do. Pete has given tons of information in this thread - if you still "have no idea about it" then maybe you should give up on internet marketing and try and get a job at McDonald's.

    Hey Pete,

Here's another believer: Sir, I do LOVE what you're doing here. And IMHO - If you see this through to December (which I think you will), there's no way you can lose, even if by chance you don't happen to meet the financial goal.

If you by chance would like some constructive criticism, consider this: coming up with more charts and graphics (detailing total articles / hops / sales / etc. through time) would be useful, for us to be able to quickly pick up on your progress. I noticed you've already put together a blog: that's great! Maybe you'll want to start using it to include more visual cues? I'd sure appreciate that. If you're already setting up those charts somewhere and I missed it, do take my apologies in advance.

Do keep up the good work!

You know, I've been around myself chasing the Internet freelancer's dream for a while, and I used to have a bad impression on the whole affiliate marketing thing.

I'm glad I found this thread, though: I'm now finally starting to realize that it's all really a matter of discipline, focus, and constant trial and error - I mean specifically getting in on the whole affiliate market game. Also, I think you've gotta keep your eyes peeled, and make sure you're learning new stuff everyday, and putting puzzle pieces together. For people such as myself (and many of the others who are now reading this, I trust - yourself included) that's actually an exciting and fun way to make a living, and that's why you should get a prize: for keeping us entertained and our sights pointed upwards, with rolled sleeves and unshakable hands-on resolulution!

Hopefully your prize will translate in effectively achieving this reasonably ambitious (yet realistic) self-imposed task. Just remember to keep faith, work hard and think out of the box and you'll surely get close enough to where you want to be.

    Here's to your success!

    All the best,
    P.

Would you want someone to speak like that to your child or loved one? So many people have achieved success because somewhere, someone along the way gave them some encouragement. And it's free to give out, so you don't have to be stingy with it.

In golf, if you want to hit the ball high in the air, you hit down on it. If you want to have a friend, you have to be a friend and with internet marketing, if you want to have success, you have to help others be a success.

Yes, Pete has a great understanding about all the concepts, but we shouldn't over look the fact he put his progress out there as a way of helping people -- and has asked nothing in return.

There are billions of dollars spent every year online, so that makes more than enough for everyone. I just don't understand how you can have such a lack mentality.

I also don't understand how you can be so negative considering you earn $6,000 a month passively.

Go to Maui for a month to meditate and chill out. And leave the computer at home. If that doesn't calm you down, nothing will.

    No.

This isn't a socialist world we live in. If you want to be successful, you have to work for it. Posting "please help me" twice in 30 minutes indicates that someone wants another member to do all the work for them. This guy clearly didn't read this very long and informative thread. He didn't want to work for himself - or even try to do it himself.

I'm negative because most of the people on this forum are idiots. I'm still here because there are some smart members who ask intelligent questions and bring up worthwhile ideas. However, the vast majority of the people on this forum want someone else to give them money making secrets as if they were M&Ms.

When someone asks a focused, intelligent question that doesn't have an obvious answer (which they could have found in ten seconds using Google) I often take time to answer the question and help them out. Unfortunately, most people here don't ask intelligent questions. They want free advice without expending any effort. Therefore, they do not deserve encouragement.

I'm not sure what you're trying to pull with this "high and mighty let's help everyone" shtick, but you need to start being a realist and recognizing that people who make posts like "please help i want to make money give me ideas" don't deserve anything from anyone.

It's a cruel, cruel world. This world is violent and unforgiving, just look at nature, and how a vine chokes out a tree, or how a hurricane wipes out a whole city.

If you are static and you don't move/work, you will die broke...

    Get to work.

It's really simple, Google is a global company. They're working very close with government agencies to rid of affiliates and clamp down on their guidelines. Paid search was creamed over the past 4 months. It's just a matter of time before they get to organic search.

Soon eventually, not now, but I see all websites having to go through an approval process to even get listed or indexed by any search engine. Probably not for years, but I am sure it's coming.

Just stay ahead of the curve and you'll be fine.

I do not post often, but this provokes a comment.

I found this thread in May, and have followed it every week since. Every couple of weeks, someone comes along that obviously has not read the pages and asks for information that has already been discussed a dozen times, or asks questions Pete already said will not be answered. Taking the time to read Pete's exceptional story, learning how to replicate his success, and enjoying the motivation provided is a gift. I am very much enjoying being his student :~) Thank you, Pete

@mariner7 Your reply to dlm is wholly inappropriate. You are obviously guilty, with your own words as incontrovertible evidence, of the precise actions and attitude your post states as being objectionable.

If you didn't write that as an example of how to be offensive to someone in a reply, then may I respectfully suggest it is you who needs to take a month to meditate and chill out. I can assure you... Tough love is better than no love at all. I don't know a single parent whose kids haven't needed a wake-up call or even a kick in the rear to get them off their duff and doing something.

I can also assure you that Pete's thread is certainly not winding down, as you suggested, and he is quite obviously very committed to it. ...at least through December :~D
