    Hi All,

I strongly recommed ICICI if u have an account with it to clear ur G chqs. My place has Citi Bank branch..

    Chq Deposited: 5th July, 2006 10:20 AM
Amount showed up in my account: 6th July, 2006 1:00 PM

    Hi Rahul,
If we deposit the chq before they the clearence for the day.. I think before 10 AM, they will send the chq for clearance on the same day and so we can get the money the next day morning..

I am not sure, but this is how things happen in other banks..

    Hi Rahul,
It seems they send cheques which are deposited before 10 AM the same day. otherwise they send the next day..

As other friends have posted, it seems in GENERAL it takes ONLY 1 day with any bank where CITIBank is there... But it depends on when we deposit the chq and also the bank employees..

    Hi True,
Thanks for posting ur comments.. Let me clear u one thing.. If u have account in any other bank then i don't think u need to open an account with ICICI especially for G cheques.. Couple of other friends said that for them also it takes 2 days to get money in to their account with other banks like HDFC, UTI, etc.. So do check ur bank before going for an account (If u have 1)..

Coming to ur question you can OPT for ORDINARY or EXPRESS delivery, EXPRESS delivery costs you a FEE. It is worth going for express delivery only if ur chq is TOOOOOOOOOOO big. By default check comes by ORDINARY MAIL

    Njoy..

    Hi Saki,

    Thanks ..

Actually what we see is PIN generation date ONLY.. it is not actually the day they POST.. So it all depends on how G processes pins and post them. It took 20 days for me to get my PIN after date of generation.. It varies and people complain that it took even 50 days or more to get PIN.. Not sure.. But lets hope will be soon.. In case you didn't get PIN by a certain date we can RE-REQUEST the PIN.

    Hope this helps..

    Regards,

Friend is right, yes this is the normal process if your cheque is included in the days' clearing.

also, if you want the money in shortest time, you should open your account with citibank directly since you mentioned your city has it. doing this, you can have the funds available with you the same day, I think :)
