Maybe you need to tell us what is the name... and on more thing, why you want to buy a 5 characters .ORG since there are a lot of CVCVC.ORG are available for hand reg? Just curious Yes, sure.. no problem
.org domain should be used for online presentations of organizations of some sort. This is some kind of general rule, but it does not have to be followed. The more important factor is the name of domain you plan to register. What you want to publish on your website is your choice no matter if your domain has .org extension. So if you want to publish Adsense ads, or any other kind of ads it's your website.
I think you can but it ! .net, .com and .org are good and you can use any of them ! But most common in between them is .com and so people prefer it more than any other ! - Digital -
Please go on and buy .org. I have also a .org domain name and .org won't affect for adsence. You can use adsence ads without hesitation.
Only reason .com is better is when people type the domain into the address bar manually. Because most people if they hear an ad on the radio or something might remember the domain name, but not realize that it is .org at the end. So your marketing techniques or how you plan to send traffic to your site matter in this situation more than anything else really. If you are doing PPC or link building or people will mainly get to your site by clicking a link then it doesn't really matter. There are not any restrictions on the purchase of a .org domain name. So from that perspective you will be fine.
i advise you to buy 2 domains .com and .org of that name ..and then build site on .org and farward url of ur site to ur another .com ..bcoz if u buy both ..u dont miss the traffic ..google adsense accept .org domains ..there is no problem
As other posts have already mentioned, ORG is used exactly like other TLDs. Then I would add a remark: if you are buying your five-letter ORG with a specific use in mind, it is definitely a good choice. If the purpose is to buy five-letter ORG names primarily for the purpose of reselling them, then I would be more careful, and rather go with generic names rather than with "pronounceable five-letter" names. Beside those considerations, generally speaking, ORG is a nice choice, especially if you need a name that is no longer available in COM, and even more so if the purpose to create a website for some kind of group or organization.
i guess it depends what you're going to do with the site. my suggestion is that you try to make the site more informational if you buy the .org maybe. just an idea as many people expect an org to be an organization or charity or some kind of institution.
.org no longer is relegated to certain definable characteristics such as nonprofit only, a quick search will show that people are using it as well as .net for whatever they feel like using it, and noone is going to refuse to visit your site because they don't feel it was used appropriately, neither will Google shun it. .com is a more valuable extension, but .org is just as valid for whatever purpose you choose.
I bought 2 org's in 2 days. And trust me domain extension doesn't matter as long as your site is appealing !
at the end of the day you're right SOULZRIPPER, build a good site and you'll be fine. Sadly people tend to skip that part.
