I love bikes, but had one accident and 2 good very friends (both experienced riders) killed in accidents in the past 2 years. I think the only way I'd get back on would be on a closed track in pads / leather
Sounds like a blast! Are you a member of cbr600rr.net? My longest ride was a trip we took for the USGP at Laguna Seca this year. We did 480 miles and rode out there through the night. lol we slept in the parking lot of an abandoned school and ended up getting charged by a Moose, of all things, in the middle of the night. But it was a blast lol. Thanks man, for the friend request. Ride smart I hear ya, Sorry to hear about your friends mate. in the case of your accident, did you pick apart afterwards what exactly happened and what you may have been able to do differently? You wouldn't happen to be in California by chance? maybe we could do a trackday The smartest thing a street rider can do is start doing trackdays, no cars to pull left in front of you, no guardrails like in the canyons, and no getting rear-ended when sitting at a traffic light Regards
Wow, I didn't realize cities could ban motorcycles. What is your cities reasoning for banning all motorcycles? It's not the actual motorcycle that's dangerous, it's what a person does or doesn't do with the motorcycle that makes them dangerous. Does the ban have something to do with how highly populated your city may be?
I used to be a motorcyclist, and never believed accidents would happen to me and felt rather cool while riding the motor at a speed as high as possible. However, during one accident, I almost lost my lover. So I have quited motorcycling and let theose days gone forever. Though I do admit that I had some beautiful memories relating to motorcycles, I think care and love are more important to me. Take care, motorcyclists! Don't make yourself regret!
I have MOTO Moto of course is dangerous... cars are dangerous too... Everything is dangerous~~~~~~~~~!
Sorry to hear that beauxaj, I hear ya, I've had two bikes stolen over the years Sorry to hear about your near miss. But if you're "riding the moto at as fast a speed as possible" on the street, and especially with someone you love on the back, it goes without saying that it was'nt the bike that was dangeous...with all do respect your decision making was Exactly Here's a video that is a perfect example of how you DON'T ride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ty-7bTId5M Here's an example of how you SHOULD ride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2ybQKOwrMo On the track
For me, motorcycles are dangerous just because there is more risk involved compared with riding a car. Your body is just too "exposed"
I have Yamaha FZ6N for 3 years. And if you use your head to think - everything will be ok Take care of yourself!
have 4 motorcycles at home, I can ride more than 90km/h in peak traffic, few times crash, one time caught by police my mother ride bike too
I also like to ride bikes. If you maintain the speed around 40 - 50 Km/h , then you will be always safe.
Motorcycles can be too much dangerous if you love Speed .. but same goes with every vehicle ... I see so many horrible accidents of young guys riding speedy bikes.. I even lost one of my nearest frnd 2 years back who took part in a bike racing and lost his life I just hate speeeddd!!!
Very cool, how do you like your Yamaha FZ6? What did you do wrong when you say you were caught by the police? That's cool that your mom rides too You won't always be safe whether riding at 10km/h or 300km/h though. It's all about staying extremely alert at all times and being good at predicting mistakes that other drivers will make. So sorry to hear about your loss! Was your friend racing on the streets, or was he racing on an actual racetrack?
He was racing on an actual race track .. It's bike racing on every Sunday and he used to take part every Sunday and just had an accident and some rod hit his brain in that accident and he died on spot.. He was just 18 and i miss him a lot really ...It was 7 years back not 2 years (my typoo mistake) in April 2002 but i just can't forget it ..!!!
I just got home from beach with my Motor. On my way home I`ve been able to pick up 3 girls. And that was in just 25-30 km.
As these are a play with two wheels, the degree of danger is depends upon the one who drives it. If he is careful no problem. Over speed is dangereous
Sometimes accidents do happen unexpectedly whether you are an experienced driver or not. So taking extra precautions surely helps.
