Paypal has been scamming people by offering low exchange rates since ages!! And its not going to change anytime soon. Their rates are always Rs. 1.5 lower than the exchange rate.
Well, they change daily also in PayPal but they are always less than what it shows in Google ! - Digital -
AFAIK,paypal update the rate everyday. They will follow the market price but the final price is after they added into the fee.
Helveti ur not right PayPal is not scamming us it is rule of of PayPal it is going years after years. Moneybooker takes even more charge than PayPal AND PayPal is not thief, when the dollar rate is increased PayPal also increases its rate, but PayPal rate is lesser than Google it not a problem it is the best service.
This is not called as scam, paypal is listing out the changing rate, you can choose whether want to exchange the money or not. If you not happy with that, then it is the time for you to change to other payment processor
Well you should know that there are two rates in forex. A buy rate and sell rate. Go to your bank some day and look at their forex board (led boards with USD, GBP, Yen etc) it will always have two values and there is a difference of around 1-5 rs between these two values. Sometimes it can be as high as 3 rs. Basically it means if you sell a dollar to Bank they will offer you say 65 INR, but if you want to buy 1 USD from them it will cost your 67 INR. This is difference between what you see on Google and Paypal. But its true Paypal show lesser rates than the correct buy rates or sell rates. We get paid via moneygram, paypal, westernunion, xoom etc and paypal gives the least value for dollar.
Yeah PayPal rates are bad. When possible, use something else to exchange your money. Banks are better, and there are even better alternatives, like TransferWise or CurrencyFair.
