Are there any other DPers who ride motorcycles? Are you of the mindset that "those motorcycles are just too dangerous!" ? Or do you believe that people should do what they truly love to do, even if there's calculated risk involved? If you do ride, how long have you been riding? Post up your pics and let's see your ride! I've been riding 26 years now and have never gone down (crashed) But I always wear full riding gear when I ride and I exercise a lot of discipline regarding safety, In my spare time I do custom painting so this is my Yamaga R1 that I finished in June.
Hi I am an Indian, We regularly see accidents on our roads, there are about 70 - 80 % accidents are of bikes, majority of them occurs due to running on high speed on high ways as well as city roads.
No, not too dangerous, although far more dangerous than cars. You simply have to be more alert, for your own safety, than someone driving a car, and think for them, I guess I don't ride myself, but often have regretted it. There is so much more freedom
I was a big fan of motorcycle. But after seeing a few accidents i have left the desire to ride motorcycle. It is too dangerous. Many times accidents occur because of someone else rough driving and the innocent one had to suffer.
It can be dangerous and not, depends, if the traffic is low, if you go fast, if the traffic is high, if the road is bumpy, if there are too many buildings and items and etc...
Well it really depends where and how you drive your motorcycle, in my country motorcycles accidents are increasing daily because of undisciplined riders.
Thanks man, I appreciate it. It's actually 3 years old and has 46,000 miles on it already Also, it looks like i mispelled the brand up there..it's a Yamaha R1
Time to get the 09 R1 soon !.. I love that bike. I have a 07 Cbr600rr rode it down to Deals gap in Tennessee last month. Been riding for 2 years and love it. Yes they are dangerous but so is walking down the street. Just keep your eyes open and make sure that you have good tires and brakes!
Cool, I was just at Deals Gap too. My brother lives in NC and we went up there for his wedding. We ended up renting bikes and heading up there. It truly is the "Tail of the Dragon" My neice has an 07 600RR as well. It's a light little bike. I'm currently training her to ride...see pics below:
you should have done the long ride!.. I went to a meetup of a forum I am a member of when I was there. People Rode Gixxers from California and texas to get there!
