What is the Best Way to Promote My Affiliate Program?

I have my affiliate program up and running and I have a few affiliates, but I am looking to really "blast" it out there, and get as many affiliates as possible. I have already submitted my program to about 30 affiliate directories, and I am not seeing a whole lot of traffic from them yet.

What is the best way to promote my affiliate program going forward?

you need an affiliate manager to run your program. Otherwise you can't go further alone.

    Hi rcwilson4au,

The directories alone won't get you many affiliates. You can try Adwords if your niche is one that affiliates would search for affiliate programs for.

There are several affiliate forums that allow new affiliate program introductions. You just need to read the rules at each forum to see what's allowed.

If you are on a network sometimes you can either do an email blast to affiliates in the network or pay to be a featured program.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

If I get an affiliate manager who do you recommend? Also, how much will that run me?

I recommend joining all forums related to your niche and announcing your program.

You can promote your program by announcing it through a press release.
Have you considered signing up with Clickbank?

Our affiliate program pays $50 for every sale of our product. We have a website promotion and SEO company, and our package is $199 per month, which yields 25% payout to affliliates. It is not an infoproduct so I don't think clickbank will work.

Yes we actually don't have a high mark up on our services which is why we can only afford to payout 25% one time to our affiliates. We are actually working on a continual payout to the affiliates for as long as the customer keeps the service. However it will not be $50 per month, most likely a discounted rate.

More to come on that as we iron out the details.

Besides asking you on this forum about promoting our affiliate program can someone please help me understand the best ways to promote my program to merchants? I've signed up with PayDotCom but it seems there and other places I have searched for are no help unless I'm missing something.

We have a wonderful product with a great commission payout that is residual for the lifetime of a customer. I just don't have affiliates... we've been selling the product since 2003 without affiliates. I really need help here. Please can you take a moment to guide me in the right direction? I would very much appreciate it and if you have a list or website and want to do a joint venture deal feel free to email or call me. I'll give you my number if you ask for it. My email is jeff (at) greatnightsleep.com

Thank you very much for reading this.

Reaching out to big affiliates is usually affective. Search Google, read blogs, find the big players and reach out to them individually

I agree with residualincome4life the best way to get new publishers is to promote it though affiliate network forums and keep topics active by answering questions people might have

Before you start finding affiliates to promote for you, first you need to know why they should join your affiliate program on the first place.

    Is it because of the:

    • commission? (higher commissions attract more affiliates),
    • conversions? (if your product convert they will be happy to promote it for you)
    • affiliate tools? (such as banners, emails, articles, videos, etc)
    • ease of registration? (do they need to fill out a long list of form? make it simple for them)
    • your niche? (competitive or not? if competitive you should offer higher commissions)
    • method of payment? (paypal is the most used method of payment and affiliate love it)
    • backend? recurring? (if you have backend offer or recurring payment program, affiliates will be more interested to promote your product)
    Hope this helps
