How ? The very nature of accessing it is using energy. You would use less energy by turning off your computer, monitor(s), printer, modem, router, and speakers, and not accessing the site at all. Think about that! It's like taking that Chevy Truck with the 350 Engine and saying you are using less energy if you drive slower. You would actually use less energy by not buying the truck in the first place.
i too agree with you! why would anyone use it just to see the black colored results.. lol.. Try to make something more innovative!! Maybe like an all in one search engine using google and yahoo apis (i dont know if bing has one) so that users can search all search engines at once!!
or like getting a pea-pod, taking the peas out, then putting some batteries in it, and calling it an ipod, lol
Sorry but I really don't see a difference with yours... it looks exactly the same minus your logo... which I think could really be improved.
Obviously a lot of people here don't think your logo is perfect. You can't start a thread asking people to rate your site and then said they are wrong when they point out bad things about it. ...and to back up what I said before: "We applaud the spirit of the idea, but our own analysis as well as that of others shows that making the Google homepage black will not reduce energy consumption. To the contrary, on flat-panel monitors (already estimated to be 75% of the market), displaying black may actually increase energy usage. Detailed results from a new study confirm this." That was written 2 years ago so flat panels are a lot more of the market now.
Suggesting a new logo is not like suggesting what to write or where to put things. It has to be designed and its a hard thing to describe a design. You will have to make a few and we can comment on them.
It takes a long time to make this logo: http://www.bpled.com/bpled.png so its hard to make some. i used grimp to make it.
Just because it took you a long time to do something doesn't mean that it is good. Maybe you should pay someone to design one for you.
