HOST GATOR - Scammed Me & Stole My Blogs & Folder, BE AWARE !!!!!!!

Hello everyone

I Have Joined HostGator, Like Month Ago. and I Worked so so so hard on my Blogs.

This story to tell anyone whoever thinking of Joining Hostgator to please please be aware, because they Can Play you in No Time.

I Have my blogs setup and they are running Good, All Who Knows me, know also How hard i work on them.

Oneday I Wokeup and all my BLOGS Doesn't exsit Any More.

I Run to host gator Scammer, Asking for Help. they told me i am late for the Payment.

I Asked them to Please at least Run My Blogs and i will Pay.

The Customer support told me, they won't do Anything Till I Pay the Monthly Fee.

And my Monthly Fees, One of sudden wet from $6.75 To $9.95

But what Can I Do They Block my Blogs and all my Online Business....I SWEAR THEY ARE A ONE OF THE BIG HOSTING MARKET SCAMMER.

Anyway After that $3 jumping in my Monthly Fees

I Felt i am being Cheated on.

I Found no Other solution but to pay

and when i loged in my billing account here it comes

They asking me to pay $9.95 + $10 Late Fees??

DOES IT MAKE ANY SENSE THE LATE FEE IS HIGHER THAN THE MONTHLY FEES

I Beg the Customer support that, to at least Let me Login to copy my Blogs? THEY SAID NO, PAY THE $19.95 FIRST

Ain't that scamming, when you charging someone Late fees, Greater Than the Monthly Fees?

Ain't that scamming when you write in the website $7.95 and the actual price is $9.95?

Ain't that scamming to Hold all my Blogs & Files for no reason, did not even allow me for 1 Hour?

They do not allowed me to copy my blogs, Download them, or even do anything,,,


I Know couple of Othe webhosting like bluehost & 1&1

They Will Allowed you to download your Blogs & EVEN Accesses for 1 Hour

Because they do not Plane to scam you, and scam your Blogs & Website

Because they Not Cheap like Host Gator, who will Hold alllllllllll your yearly hard work for them Little money, checp host

Never ever Buy from HOSTGATOR, Because they will Mess your Business up and then never allowed you even to download

Well, I won't refer to them as scammers, after all, they are a really big hosting company and wouldn't do such a thing in such corporate levels with many staff. Also, do note that the support assistance are just hired staff, they can't do anything about it but follow the rules. You should had read their payment conditions and met the deadline promptly, I do agree the late fees and unsuspension fees are incredibly high, but thats the price for overdue payments which most hosting company do, in fact some even terminate after 14-days. So I won't really say you deserve a pity here.

You clearly do not understand the meaning of SCAM nor do I get the feeling you are being fair/just in your post. Fix up your English too. Sorry for your hard work going to waste though, its called "BACKUP".

Shock to see this i am with hostgator from past 2year + never faced this especially last to last month i didn't renewed my account where my due date is 24th but i forget to renew. i paid on next month 5 or 6th. No suspension, no late fee, No loss of database etc. Sites worked perfectly.

Hostgator is one of the best hosting company for business people.

 

The more days you are late the higher the fee.... Just pay the damn fee and you will get your blogs bro

 

I apologize for this happening to you, it's very frustrating to lose a website that you worked on dearly. But heres something you should review, HostGators payment conditions may have stated if you do not pay the late fee will be added automatically.... or even the payment does increase throughout the months. Although this is a bad time for you, HostGator is one of the most popular hosting industries in the business, I haven't heard of them ever scamming anybody.

EDIT: Also, they DO have the right to terminate you at any time. And also have the right to keep your files until payment is received, they're not stealing your files, they're simply not giving you access to them without a payment. They do not store your files, but if you don't pay the 10-day mercy period your files will be gone.

 

I think your twisting the word scam a little bit.

Hostgator are doing their job by blocking your account until you pay for it, I would do that too. I wouldn't allow them to have access if they didn't pay for a bill. If they did scam you then they would deny tthe fact that your files are on the server and forget about it.

I also think that hostgator can't just put up their prices, are you sure you signed up correctly at first? Maybe you used a coupon? Did you read the fine print i.e late fees etc. I know you don't have too but when you complain about these stuff it always goes to the fine print.

Nonetheless, I suggest you just pay them, I wouldn't call them scammers.

This is a rediculous thread. Host Gator is a great company! I have been a customer of theirs for 5 years and NOT once has their been a billing issue!

The poster should:
A. Grow Up!
B. Learn to read (Host Gator's Terms of Service)
C. Get a job and PAY YOUR BILLS!

How can you possibly expect to receive a service without payment??

When you don't pay your cell phone, it gets turned off.
When you dont pay your rent, you get kicked out.
When you don't pay your hosting payment, you get TERMINATED!

You must have some bad luck. For 3 years i have hosted many sites with gator ranging from forums to my current blog and have no issues with the payment. I always write down what date my payment is do each month and if i wake up and money did not go threw, i send a paypal payment over.

I'm very organized and can not afford to loose traffic for sites being down so i make sure i know when payment is do and manually pay it if payment never goes threw. So far no issues with HG other then there stupid mass email policy. I worked my way around it with some tweaking. The thread creator needs to be more responsible when it comes to maintaining his sites and making sure the bills get paid on time. Hell, if i pay my landlord the rent money 1 day late, i have to pay a $50 late fee for each day payment is late. That term is in my lease i signed and agreed to, so i make sure it's paid 1day before by manually walking check over. Never trust the payment to go threw by itself. Always double check and don't cry to us here when you fucked up.


HG will not bend the Payment guidelines for 1 person. Grow up and move on.

 

1. Hostgator did not increase the price from $7.95 to $9.95, it was already there.
2. The late fee of $10 was clearly mentioned in the terms you agreed to when signing up.

I am more than sure they did not "SCAM" you. It was not hostgator's fault, they just followed their terms.

 

HG is a too big company to call them a scam.

Read properly there TOS, understand and follow it. Also, never forget to make BACKUPS.

I've been using hostgator a long time and no they aren't scammers.

If you don't pay your bill they have a right to charge a late fee, just as banks, credit card companies etc etc etc. do.

Regarding the $3, It sounds like you had a coupon code or got a special discount when you originally set up the hosting.

Their regular price is $9.95 so their's nothing "scammy" about that.
