alright guys, had some dinner, went to the gym, and now we are back on it. I'm not going to remove dupes, and will have the default sort order based on timestamp so you can easily figure out the frequency. We are printing back the results now. I'll post the url shortly (tonight for sure)
searchqueries are pretty slow on a db this size (even with as much ram and processor as we have), so expect 15 or so seconds per query. We will work on optimization later. for now I just want to get the initial data to you guys.
well we can later on use frequency like "phrase - 15" for phrase which is repeated 15 times instead of repeating same phrase 15 times. I still feels removing dupes was a good idea for the time being.
i've gone back and forth with it. Might look at implementing a cache of some sort since the data is all static. Once it's live we'll get some feedback from you guys and get things sorted and improved. For now I just want to get you guys access.
I am amazed by the people who think this list is not important. Neison Ratings have almost the same sampling rate.
found this linkhere. just some preview of it. not really neat but maybe useful for you who want to take a little preview of what AOL released.
anyone who thinks this data is not important is an idiot and will miss out. Just the little bit that i've gone through has been golden
When you guys get a chance, look at user 39509. He goes from looking for car parts, to *censered* pics, to learning how to start a bible study! Makes you think twice about the guy leading the bible study held at your local coffee shop. Some of this search history is a great read. I have laughed my ass off.
What's the total size when un-ziped!!! Something tells me I'll have to split these files up in to much smaller pieces...after there all downloaded!!! About two hours for me, on DSL.
http://simplifiedsec.com/KeywordDigger.html There it is guys. It's going to be slow for a couple hours while we index the date time section of the data.
Ahhhhhh. Shows the url of my competition!! That's who's stealing all my traffic...darnit. Now, time to eliminate the competition..... j/k THANX! Great Tool....for me anyways!
I have downloaded the list and wow it is long. I have only looked through the first 1000 searches and I have already found some funny stuff and interesting stuff. Check this one out about an animal emergency at www.imnotadoctor.com I plan on looking at this list for the next 5 billion months. Should be interesting.
It was already posted at digg, but don't look for a title like "The Ultimate Adsense Keyword List - Courtesy of AOL" AOL Search Data Shows Users Planning to commit Murder See the difference between digg and DP? At digg, the users are talking about privacy considerations and how disturbing it is that crimes that may have been committed, and at DP you're talking about how to monetize the list.
1EightT, tx for the link I just downloaded the aol data but I have a problem with win grep. It says it will search .zip but it doesn't. Anyone knows the solution???
