Hy to all ...i'm a little new to this forum ..and I have a question .. witch are the steps you guys follow when you make a new website?

I mean s.e.o point of view. First choose you keywords or what? I try to build a scheme to follow for every website I'll be making and I'm a little confused with too much information surrounds me. Thanks :)

in my experience i can told you that on page optimization is easy but having backlinks to your website is diffecult. please pay attention more to one way links because google and other major search engine consider it as votes to your web

    first step is keyword analysis.
This will give you a basis for everything, from choice of domain name, to website structure, content writing´, internal link structure etc.

Then off-site optimization work can commence later

I usually start with creating a tree-like site structure linking to the most important pages from the homepage. From there linking to subpages and so on.

First step is making sure the domain you buy is not on a blacklist and then searching for any existing results for that domain before you buy it, use quotes also. Make note of ANY results ( bookmark folder ) you'll need those later on. Make sure none of those results are on link farming pages or anything suspicious. Check all top level domain result also if you can't buy them all ( org net com) and just "have to have" that particular domain name. Register your domains for OVER 2 years.

Second step is not doing ANYTHING until you create a robots.txt file and upload it. That should be the first file created. Then delete all that junk your web host has on your root. You want it CLEAN.

Third step is going to the webmaster tools on the Big 3 and verifying your site. Read up on the articles they provide, but DO NOT follow them word for word. Take the basics, leave the rest.

Fourth step is creating simple navigation to at least ten RELEVANT NON DUPLICATED CONTENT CUSTOMIZED pages that are SEO optimized, sitemapping them all together hard coded on your site and then again in a .xml file in your root... and then launching them all at once. Don't worry about cosmetics yet. Search engines don't give a crap about your color scheme.

Fifth step is to submit your URL and sitemaps to the big 3.

Don't even think about backlinks or all that jazz just yet. Let the search engines do their work for a about a week.

Domain name does not HAVE to be business / site related at all.

Good SEO can rank any domain for any keyword.

It's more important that your domain name is easy to remember for offline marketing if you are a legit business. Under 7 characters, top level, and unique.

You mentioned multiple sites. I suggest sticking with one or at most a couple, especially if you are in the learning process. Otherwise your site(s) will likely fall into the countless sea of others that know of sees.
