Story at the bbc: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/5254642.stm I wonder just exactly how involved google will be now and if it will see myspace clamping down more on abuse of its system.
I read that Myspace as popular as it is, has been having a hard time capitalizing on that traffic. This is just one way they feel that they could make money on the site.
All I can say is WTF? Well, I can say more. Me and some guys were dicussing this myspace thing recently asking ourselves how on earth the dumbest ideas and lamest web sites become the biggest things. Who would have known. Again, WTF?
I fail to see why this will eliminate myspace resource sites. There is still a need for them and as long as their website name excludes the myspace trademarked name they are perfectly legal. Someone mind explaining the reasoning? I'm just a little confused.
Google is just doing the search for Myspace and advertising? Without Myspace Resource sites, how are the Myspacers going to make thier profiles snazzy? I don't think they'll get rid of them.
Google will pay more to serve searching capabilities for myspace than FOX paid for myspace. Good deal for FOX.
I think, it's inevitible that myspace, with that much money ok, can afford to do up its own 'pimp your profile' system. When that time comes, thats when I'll think "bye bye myspace resource sites". This really has nothing to do with them.. Mistake me if I'm wrong
I don't think they would make money out of having their own profile edits unless they sold them, but even then how could they make money selling them when the resource sites are giving them away for free? I just don't see myspace spending time on an endeavor like that. Who knows though?
That would be great if myspace had revenue sharing!! Yeah Right! They're all about cashing in on the thousands of teens that are joining daily. Have you seen this: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/04/23/b...68344369c2b006ac&ex=1303444800&pagewanted=all Myspace will take over the internet....just kidding!!
How can you possibly say myspace is a lame idea? Sure, they didn't exactly USE the idea very well, but it's still a greast concept. It has completed the social aspect of the web in a huge way. Now it's not just IM or email, it's myspace too.
