IMO you will get 11,900 backlinks, but will have the weight of 1 The good news is, your link is on 11,900 pages that are getting viewed/searched
I would think it would only count as one link since it's in the footer. I'm not positive though. -Danielle

Many forums don't give google access to signatures, and if they do, google knows it is in your signature, so IMO having it in your signature is 1 backlink, which will most likely be taken from your profile page. Now you have it linked on every page then it is now 11,900 backlinks. (you will see it in yahoo explorer ) But you will have the weight of 1 backlink. If the website/forum are relevant then you should get some credit, make sure your anchor text is good. If possible try and get the link higher up the page, this may show more importance. Also get the link wrapped in a sentence.
I suggest you to get backlinks from different domains instead of 1. As long as google can crawl your backlink and it is dofollow, you will surely get benefits from this backlink. Plus, the indexed pages will surely gives some traffic too.
Im sure it will count as 12000 back links but they won't be quality backlinks since there are many links on the site. Plus it will bring good traffic, which is always good.
you will get a penalty for sure, i have tried that and i have lost my #1 position, it took 2 months to recover, and i don't know how much time to get the #1 ranking again for your keyword. i suggest that you remove the link immediately
it isn't a good idea to get many links from one plce ( site ) try to get a lot of one way backlinks from web directories
you have got only 1 link, because your url has been placed on only one page. One thing is good that you have got a valuable link.

It will be less than 1. More like 0.5. It would be 1 if the link was somewhere other than the footer link. Common SEO wisdom tells us that Google probably gives less link weight to footer links.
A footer link in a forum can definitely help. It is called Google PAGE rank, not Google Site rank. That means EACH and every page that links to your site counts. A footer link in a forum is a very good basis for your SEO. Google will not show all of them, but they all count. And as the forum has lots of visitors, you will get direct traffic.
It is true having much back links through different sites is better than having much back links from a single domain. So try to get back links from different sites.
I agree that counts but don't rely on a singe domain backlinks. Try more directory sites with high page rank and other sites where you can build quality backlinks.
