Just announce it in announcement section here on DP or contact directory submitters in services section so that they include your directory in list

Few ideas for getting site traffic.

    1. Advertise your directory in high traffic sites.
    2. Add your site in social bookmarking sites.
    3. Work on your search keywords.
    4. And try get more links from relevant category with unique content.

Hope that will help you a lot.

I took the liberty of looking at your sites home page.....

Seems to answer your question fairly well imo..

Submit your site to quality directories, build links and promote, promote, promote....

Edit ---- I would not expect a whole lot of submissions without a working submission form though.

You have to work on content and presentation.

Directory that doesn't invites visitors to come back for more is as good as already dead directory.

You may pick up some pointers from here The Best "cream of the crop" Directories!
and that may help you to build it right given that you just started

and never let spam submissions near your directory

    ;)

Nothing is easy at beginning, by allowing spam at first stage is a good way, in my opinion.

submit it to other directories, make it so they dont need to provide a backlink until you get tons of submissions

Mine has over 7000 links, I averaged like 10 a day and built up a huge amount that is now searchable in google, then now i require backlinks

Building links helps your directory drives more traffic. Participating on the techniques like forum posting, directory submissions, blog commenting, article submissions, classified ads, press release, link exchange and social bookmarking definitely helps your directory drives more traffic. Engaging on social networking sites like twitter and facebook also helps.

I am sorry but people here seem to miss the point swedal tried to make...this is the submission form in question that needs to be worked on.

You may want to contact someone to fix the directory itself before asking questions about traffic.

    Waste of money;)

Instead, advertise on directories since the visitors have interest in directories they may want to see other directories specially the one the advertise.

Another place is this advertisement site where you can buy ads with the participating sites. http://buysellads.com/

I was thinking about buysellads.com too,
But, as long as it is only sponsored flat rate ads (no network ads) where the cheapest ad spots costs 10$ monthly, im thinking is there is worth of spending money? Just wonder.
Doesn't PPC's (google adsense etc.) not better? as long as you can target by keywords?
Just thoughts, im only thinking :)

Submit your directory to directories-of-directories, advertise on directorycritic.com, paiddirectorylist.com, strongestlinks.com/directories.php, web-directories.ws, directoryrecap.com, vmoptions.com/directory-list.php and others, people do look into those sites coming from their excellent search engine rankings for the directory-related keywords.

You need to increase back links to attract viewers towards your site. you should only accept quality links.

Remember the directory smackdown of 2007? I think some of it had to do with directories advertising directories which in turn advertised directories, and so on. Basically too much cross-linking between a smallish group of websites, and not much added value for visitors.

I'm not saying you shouldn't advertise on other directories at all, but don't make it the main focus of your efforts for this type of website.
