He is talking about linking between his own websites not internal links within webpages of the same domain

Yes of course, any link is counted as link, but if all the domains are on the same IP then avoid it, your domain should not get flagged with G for unethical link building

regardless of ips, hosting.. if as you say, they are from different niches, why would you interlink them ? your rankings will probably not benefit from such non-themed links, unless you want to do it for traffic, and if that is the case, you can always use redirects instead of direct links.

I personally would pick out 1 or 2 websites that are struggling in the serps and link the other websites to them on a one way basis. That way you are not internlinking every page (some people say you might be penalised although I have seen, just last week, one group of websites (not our own!) doing very well using this tactic) and you are also directing the benefits of link building where it is needed.

I'm no expert, but I have noticed that when we develop a new website and put a "designed by" link from that website to our own in the footer, our website goes up in the serps. So therefore non-related links ont he same Ip do seem to count for something.

If you have websites related to same theme, like 3 domains for lcd tv, plasma tv and blu-ray players, you can interlink even if it was in same ip. There is no evidence that google will penalise or devalue the links in the same ip. Everything is based on quality, authority of the websites.

Yeah, you can do interlinking of your websites by using a list box. If you interlink with text in all of your sites, it may consider as link farming with in your network and many penalized by Google. It is good to use list box, or javascript.

Text linking different niche websites effects your SERP. And gets negative impact of your sites in front of search engines.

Just make sure Google doesn't know it's your own sites. Don't use adsense on them, don't use Google webmaster tools and Google analytics. I interlinked a few of my sites and used google analytics and they drop 3 pages in the SERPs :(

yes, two of them are on the same IP, one is in US and the other one is the same hosting company, but different IP.

    Doh ! i still don't know what to do:mad:

i will keep them interlinked, maybe i will have some luck, if i see they drop in SERP i will take them out.

    thanks a lot guys ;)

You can. But not in text linking[/a]. Use in a list box or java script. Bcoz, the links should not be crawlable.

If you use text links, your sites gets -ve impression in front of search engines. Different niche sites should not link at one place.
