I noticed something on Google. I am keeping track of my keywords ranking everyday and Google seems to be really dancing. One of my keywords is on the 21st originally....after 2 days,it's no longer on the first 1000!. ANd then after a week...it went to 17th..and then after another week...it disappeared again from the first 1000! What is really happening with Google?
After Big Daddy, my Psychlinks forum dropped from several thousand pages indexed to 7, then 6, then 2, then 1. Around the same time, old phpBB pages (no longer existing since 2005) showed up as supplemental listings. Some time later (actually a lot later), the number increased from 1-2 pages to 80 pages indexed... and then held there... ...until today. Suddenly for site:forum.psychlinks.ca I see Most are still Supplemental but they are cached. Anyone else seeing major changes in the site: query?
i just moved a few spots..like if one of my sites was 33 rank, now its 29 or 30 thats all but that always happenes
I haven't noticed in yet at the moment but yes, I can expect it to appear anytime soon. I am still at #1 & #2 on some popular keywords in my niche.
Just noticed the same thing for my ecommerce site. Number of pages doubled using the site: operator although most are supplemental. Supplemental index has not been functioning properly for a while now. Try searching a few of the supplemental URL's to see if they show up. Dave
I am just after running a Data centre check and they are reporting huge differences in indexed pages. Time to go and get the headache tablets I think
Yep! That's partly why it's exciting - these are real pages, not pages that haven't existed since last summer.
OMFG! One of my sites has been battling for ages to get indexed. I got shitloads of backlinks, submitted a sitemap every couple of days... and the indexed pages was stuck at 9. Did a check right now... Results 1 - 10 of about 97,900 As others, they are showing up as supplemental, but I hope this means that things are going to get better soon
Sure is! AND they're actually showing up when searched. Using mcdar, I'm seeing about half the DC's showing the newer results. Dave
Since Thursday a few of my sites have gone from being fully indexed, to half indexed, now showing a 75% drop in pages. Something is happening, at least my MSN rankings are making up for loss in traffic from G
Dear Mr. Matt Cutts, Why are you de-indexing my precious website? Regards, Turfsniffer. P.S. I should have listened to the Mrs. and kept my brick-laying job.
*yawn* I still see screwed up site: results on google.com of up to a few hundred results, with great results on the datacenters.
