Do you guys use an SEO tool to get your site a higher ranking?

I only get at most 5 clicks a day (On a good day). I have only had my site around for six weeks. I know it isn't optimized at all, which is something I have to work on. I was starting to think about buying an SEO tool so that I could possibly start MAKING a little money off google adsense. Am I the only one who hasn't used on of these tools? If you use it and you think it does what it says it does, could you let me know what tool you used? I just don't see the point of spending 200 bucks on something that isn't going to work. I'm sure some other people out there feel the same way.

I understand that it won't give you a #1 rating. I'm just curious if they would move you up higher? Because right now, someone would get arthritis in their index finger from clicking the next button before they came across my website in a search engine, lol. Do you use one dcristo?

There's no such think as an automated tool. There are tools that can help you to find keywords and analyse the backlinks of your competotrs, but you still have to learn about on-page SEO and build the links yourself.

The problem you are facing is that you are not convinced of your site's result thats because as you mentioned your site is only six weeks old and not optimized, let me tell you how you can get ranks
    1. Ask your any seo friend to build metatags for the site and to review the quality and amount of content, build content such that it has less competitive keywords (strictly recommended for new sites)

    2. submit your site to web directories and search engines

    3. create a thread here for link exchange

And finally let me tell you there is no software in the world that can automatically optimize a site, you will need a smart seo to look out for a site, he will only use some sites and software to review your content & keywds.
Warning:Doing SEO your self without proper knowledge is very dangerous!
Dont worry and start searching someone who can complete the first two steps ASAP then hopefully you will get rank in MSN (sure) and Yahoo (maybe)
    in just one month.:) :)

when you say, build metatags, I assume you mean, adding phrases and keywords in the keyword metatag. Is that correct? If that is the case, aren't their tools available to help me do that instead of finding and "SEO guy"?

I have completed your 2nd step, I submitted my site on yahoo, google, and msn, already and they can be searched from those engines now.

So then, by your process I must add and analyze my keyword metatag moe efficiently, as well that as create a thread for link exchange. That leads me to another question. Which is the relavent forum to add a thread for link exchange, www.mycollegememories.com?

Thanks for everyones help so far!

    Bro,
The "keyword metatags" are no longer used by search engines to provide ranks they all emphasize on title and description metatags, the keyword meta tag is only used by yahoo (a little bit) to give rankings to sites, also the keywords in keyword metatags should not be repeated which will lead to penalization of site. That's why i was asking you to seek advice of an seo, SEO IS NOT AN EASY THING!!!!! I undestand that you have spent much on your site but belive me bro making a site is very easy but making it sustainable in the world of billion sites is very hard. I cant help you any more than this now. :)

so how does google decide the niche/category of your site don't they look at the keywords in the metatags? or do they just look at the <title> tag and categorise it that way?

Google looks at over 100 elements to rank a page. Some of the elements (a growing proportion) are off the page entirely. I'm not convinced that Yahoo! even looks at the keyword metatag anymore.

I always smile when I see 'SEO Specialists" write about keyeword metatags when selling their services.

Meta tags are supposedly useless as far as Google is concerned. Yet, some say they see they are able to change ads by changing their meta tag descriptions.
