Transfering PP credits to bank account in India..

    Hey guys,
I want to transfer about $200-500 on regular basis from my PP to my bank account in India(Canara Bank, IIT Powai branch if that matters).. and I've come across this xoom thingy which seems all right and has good ratings in WOT..
I know paypal offers the same service but AFAIK it charges a lot for currency conversion and xoom does not..
And yeah if that matters, the PP account is verified with the same bank account(not a CC but the account.)

So I'd like any help from who has used xoom about it's charges and the time it takes and the reliability(I heard there are some issues with paying "Intra-India" as Govt. doesn't but I hope that shouldn't be an issue since PP is a German Firm)

Also I'd love to know about any other alternatives I can use for the same..

    Any help would be appreciated..
    Thanks in advance

Thanks, But do I get the full amount??.. I mean doesn't PP charge some currency conversion fee?? Because I remember paying about Rs50.10/$(the rate was 48.xx) when I credited my PP with a friend's CC..

chandan is right.. If I cash the money USA acc.. the problem of transferring it back to India would still be an issue

i think its giving 46.xx Rs/$ while withdrawing now , as it depends on current rate too

but u can check the rate while withdrawing so minimum 150+$ u will get full amount ( normally 150$ gives 7K INR so no charge ) if u withdraw less than that then paypal deducts 50 Rs fee per such transactions.

unless some one xoom users post the benefits we can't differentiate

Its better to directly transfer your money using Paypal rather than going for XOOM.

And if you have to withdraw PayPal won't take even a single cent as fee.
