I had about 20 sites indexed in google. Then I added google site maps and the number droped to ZERO. why is that? Does that mean I should take it off?

This isn't enough information to give a good answer. Sorry.

Just adding site maps wasn't why your sites were de-indexed.

When Googlebot comes around again, if your site is up and functioning properly, it will have information to index.

You need to contact whoever it is that has your URL linked to nowhere and ask them to remove it or change it to link properly.

I also suggest you do some reading up on the forum about general information regarding SEO and then ask questions as you get stuck.

My final suggestion would be to follow the advice you were given when you asked about the site in this thread last week...

I just notice in my 2 sites, when I change the layout of the site and add somecontent of the pages that already index. Google suddenly deindex all pages that I modified that already index. Not sure why, but I guess google deindex pages that updated and again reindex.

Not sure if this is just a coinsidence

I update my meta tags sometime, just to try to get a better description or keywords and it seems that when I do the site disappear for a while. Guess they have to save the pages, evaluate them to see where they fit in, and then it comes back in the index (maybe!).... not sure this is one of the problems with the supplemental hell.....

If you probably would have noticed that every month on a certain date the google listing will drop and rise dramatically. I myself had certain keywords ranking on the 7th position for an hour or so on Google which was really good. But then it went back to where it was supposed to be on the 176th position :(. It happens when you have your site well optimized (inpage) but is not competent enough with the other sites (Offpage). What you have to do is make sure that you make minimal changes to the key tags and also get enough links to your site with a good anchor text. This will help you not fluctuate your ranking too frequently on minor changes like the Keywords meta tag (which goog does not use these days). Also take a look at Brad Callens website for more information on SEO Inpage optimization. This would help you a lot on this Topic. I cant help you find it but you can search on the web for Brad Callen :)

i think fluctuation are important so that not only some sites get all the attention
but they should be more logical
