It's kind of crazy that the Police would pick someone up at 5:00 pm for walking down a public street.

I'm not an attorney but imo he was detained/taken into custody when he was placed in the back of a squad car.

What's the point. Bob Dylan doesn't have the right to walk through a low income area?

Even when someone phoned them to report a man acting suspiciously?

Good job you're not an attorney then because you don't know shit about the law. He wasn't "placed" anywhere. he was "ASKED" to go with the poice so they could confirm his identity, which he agreed to do. There is a big difference between that and being arrested, detained or taken into custody. When the police arrest you then tend not to ask you if it's ok.

Of course he does. But the police also have a right, and more importantly a DUTY, to investigate all claims of suspicious behavior.

Here are the FACTS bogart, tell us what should have been done differently.

    1. A concerned member of the public called the police to report a man acting suspiciously.
    2. the police showed up, see the man and asked him what he was doing and what his name is.
    3. the man said "i'm bob dylan, i'm on tour. i'm looking at houses".
    4. As the man had no ID and they had no idea what bob dylan looks like (something which is not a crime) they asked the man to come with them to a place where his identity could be vouched for.
    5. upon receiving verification of the mans identity the police thanked him for his cooperation and went on their way.

now pick the bones out of that and tell me what is wrong with what happened and what should have been done differently.

You need to look at this in the context that the town is a beach resort at the height of tourist season. There are thousands of people on the street @ 5pm. I'm just wondering how many illegal aliens are required to prove their identity to the police?

answer my question. What was done wrong and what should have been done instead, specifically? it's no good juts posting pictures of mexicans and bitching about them instead.

New Jersey is a F'ud State. Paterson NJ is trying to pass a law that would make it illegal for Adults to be on the streets between 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM.

Like I have already stated. New Jersey is a sanctuary state. It's illegal for the Police to stop illegal aliens and pick them up. Why does Bob Dylan need to prove who he is to walk down a public street.

Btw, the US does not have a National ID. Bob Dylan isn't required to have a ID or to carry a passport in his own country.

So what did they do wrong and what should have been done instead, specifically? Considering that a concerned member of the public phoned the police to report a man acting suspiciously.

you haven't thought this through bogart. If your agenda is some nationalist rant about "dem der brown folks" then fair enough, but have the courage to come out and say it instead of hiding behind this facade. If you think the police behaved inappropriately in the case of dylan then lets here why and lets here what should have been done instead.
