When exactly you get PR for your new website?

What is the time duration if you have done enough work for link building etc,,? When will the PR show for your website? Any ideas?

probably because with your own SEO site you would be expected to know the answer yourself! :)

Well, there is no hard set rule for this.
Even Google themselves dont update regularly.

If you look at the history of when they did updates it ranges from 2 weeks at best to 4 or 5 months at worse.
Throw in a complete algorithm change at some points and there really is no answer to this question.

What we have to therefor go on is assumations.

We can assume that an average is 2 to 3 months.
This gives us all plenty of time for SEO work, getting quality backlinks and sorting out our content. This will all be preperation in making a jump in PR, whether its a new site from PR0 to PR3, or an existing site moving from PR3 to PR5.

I have seen our sites get a PR in a week and other which never seem to get it. Its really down to timing and obviously whether or not there is anything worthy to rank in the first place.

You also have your own SEO website but you don't seem to know. :D

Page Rank is updated daily. He asked about Page Rank, not Toolbar Page Rank, that most seem to speak about. (which seems to be updated more frequently now - but is irrelevant anyway)

There's no time duration! Ideally, SEO should be a "continuous process" to get a stable PR and ranking. Somebody is going to outrank you if you stop your linkbuilding efforts along the way.

You typically get Page Rank the VERY first time Google crawls a link to your site (assuming the page linking to you AND your page are both in Google's index).

There are 2 types of PR - "real" PR and Google Toolbar PR. It's the "real" PR that matters... This is what Google is looking at when they rank you URL in the SERPs. The "real" PR is constantly being updated, but you can never see what is is. It never stops updating. The Google Toolbar is basically worthless. It's always out of date. It's not looked at for ranking purposes.

Here is a previous post of mine that should explain the difference in the two:

if google updated the PR lately (and it did) you will most probably get your PR in about a month or so, but it can also be less or more

    Happy ranking to you dude

P.S. Why did you launched this website if you have no idea about SEO ?

anyways, good day to you ;)

@seo-free - I wonder if you could help me (your website seems to promote you as an SEO Expert):

How many PR1 links do I need to build in order to get the equivalent to one PR6 link?

    Hope you can help :)

You can see the change within 2 weeks to 3-4 months.

2 weeks - If you get any penalty from selling paid links with dofollow link that is detected by google. Most of the time, this penalty will slam your PR to 0. Some cases, it will drop to lower PR level from your current. Let's say you got PR5, if you got PR penalty from paid links, it may drop to PR3 or PR1 or slammed to ground 0 level.

3-4 months - For last 2 years, I've been monitoring PR, the mass update on all domains comes every 3-4 months, once. Last update was June 09. Next update is expected by end of this month or next.

i am not sure about the specific months it would be to make your site have PR..
I think it would be based on how you optimize it... and it would also be based on the strategies that you used and of course the traffic....
