I've heard both sides. Some people tell me they are making a lot more now. Niches are constantly changing so how much you make is obviously going to change. Maybe your niche had advertisers paying $10 a click a year ago and only $5 now, who knows.

overall I disagree when people say adsense as a whole is dying and doesn't pay and all that junk. Plenty of people are earning really well.

I've noticed earnings have gone down due to the recession, but things seem to be leveling off now.

My daily revenue has doubled over the past 2-3 months and seems to continue to slowly grow week-over-week. I haven't done much of anything on my sites in that time.

What a question ! Are "things" the same after 9/11 event ? Of cource not and they will never be.

Are "things" the same after 2008/2009 crisis ? Of cource not and they will never be.

If your revenues are down, then don't wait !!! Add an other website in an other niche !!!

I thought my earnings were down, especially this month. So I have just done a comparison, July 2008 to July 2009. What I found surprised me.

My earnings per click have gone up by 45%
My number of clicks has gone down by 40%
Overall difference is a drop in income of 14% since last year.

It seemed so much more of a drop than that to be honest... although Google has changed from reporting in $ to £ for me, so not sure how reliable the two comparisons are as they will involve the exchange rate at the time too as a variable.

Mine are also down about 10% from the same point last year. I'm sure it has to do with the state of the economy.

It just makes us have to be more determined to earn the same

Advertisers who pay for the clicks may be more careful about bidding now. They may also be getting smarter - i.e. grouping their content bids and search bids in different campaigns. bummer....

But really, my average ppc varies so much from day to day or week to week, I really can't say I see a trend one way or the other.
