For the past couple years the military has been pretending we were fighting Al Qaeda in Iraq lead by Zarqawi, when we have really been mostly fighting Iraqis. The military played up Zarqawi to try to put a foreign face on the insurgency to link it with the war on terror and try to trick the Iraqis into thinking foreigners were taking over .....

I am not going to get into the politics of this subject, but one significant reason why a picture would be edited, is that the more sensational, eyecatching, memorable the picture is, the more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$USD are brought in by the sale and distribution of the picture from copyright sales and permissions etc

 

This event in itself is not critical. What is important is that this is just one more event in a long stream of events which show that the mainstream media is willing to go to any lengths to attack the American center.

This will fail. Americans are, as a group, much too intelligent to fall for such shenanigans.
