After a lot of consideration and reconsideration, I decided that I find it to be funny.
    :D
The dark & cruel Arab dictatorships around me are a source of a lot of trouble and misery. At least they make up for this a little by giving us some good piece of comedy like this from time to time.

I don't find this funny either, Chaos. And as long as this kind of hate lives, coming from anywhere, this world will continue to be wracked with pain.

No guys. It is not hate. Unlike new, imad, and the other "good guys", who are pure haters who know absolutely nothing about judaism, Israel etc', I speak arabic, know and appereciate too much about arab culture that I simply can not hate, even if I wanted to.

As I said, the decision was not easy. But lets not forget the important background behind this story, not mentioned in the article:

The technology of Syria's army is at the level of the 1950's. They have U.S. Abrahams tanks which the U.S dumped after WWII.....
Syria is 9 times bigger than Israel and 3 times more populated.
The average yearly income of the Syrian citizen is 2,500$/year, in comparison with 32,000$/year in Israel. If you exclude govenment officials, this will drop to 900$/year. Less than 1% of the households have the required permission from the government to access the internet.
It is one of the darkest and cruelest dictatorships, right around the corner 100km from my house.

Syria understands, that the only way it could face Israel in a possible future confrontation is by bombing its cities and villages, and not in the battle field. As a result, the Syrians arm themselves in recent years with thousands of ground missiles of all kinds, who can carry chemical weapons (Syrians have a huge chemical weapon arsenal). They also had a nuclear program which we in Israel "postponed" by a couple of years.

In view of this, please forgive me for smiling a little bit before I will shed a lot of tears in the future. Unique and great Humor is another thing to which we can attribute our survival in this terrible region of the world.

I decided to ignore imad and new in this thread, they provide enough comedy in other threads, imad declared yesterday that homosexuals are a "problem" that should be "fixed" , and new shamelessly quoted anti-semitic websites and fought fiercely to convince us that this is true.

But after you asked, I did have a look at imad's link.
The article is not even remotely related with the topic of this thread, as one can expect from imad: everytime you accuse the arabs of bad-doing, he makes a completely unrelated and unparallel accusation towards Israel. He is always in the offensive, never in the defensive. But I sympathize with him, How could he possibly defend the barbaric Syrian regime? even "insanity" line of defense will not convince the jury :)

So I will not comment too much about it, as it related with "advanced zionism". A topic which does not even come near imad. I will just surprise you by saying that I admire Avraham Burg, the author, and his father Yosef who are great zionists. In my post-zionist secular views I agree with most of the article. I remember approving it back in 2003 when I read it for the 1st time.
It is a inner-criticism published in a jewish journal. It is just the beautiful face of our pluralist, tolerant society, which is a thing whose meaning new and imad can not even grasp, because the country they live in is more like Syria. Can you imagine a palestinian pulicist writing to a palestinian newspaper that suicide bombings are immoral and stupid? not in my life such a thing will happen, not even once. The ugly face of the non-pluralist, intolerant, arab society.

But please, from now on I reply only to things related with "gas explosions" in Syria or elsewhere :)

    Oh LOL!!!
    I know what happened!
imad posted the link without even reading a single line of the content of the article. he googled "zionist missile fail" or something like that, clicked on the 1st search result (the title matches), assumed that the content is related with an actual failed Israeli missile experiment and posted it in here? why would he post such an unrelated article with a "matching" title?
I bet that he didn't read a single paragraph. Otherwise why would he post a zionist, pro-Israeli, article ..?
And stupid me who thoughtfully answered and related to the important article posted randomly by a hater....

But i'm glad you found it interesting, pizzaman, it is interesting.

jewish people have been killed and singled out for hate throughout history. they should surely stand firm for the weak. for humanity and respect for the life of other human beings. for the right of minorities. for what is good and what is fair. It seems odd that an israel finds it funny when innocent people die. an then go about braging how powerfull the israeli army is. makes me sad to see what you have lost

    learn how to re-read..

I said, "homosexuality have a problem with nature, not with Saudi regime", and not "homosexuality is a problem that should be fixed" but, if you want my opinion about homosexuality, it is indeed a problem, but not for me, or my society, but for the societies where it is encouraged and promoted, and it is up to them if they want to fix it or not, I just speak my opinion, and I do not care whether you are going to like it or not.

maybe it is because I like to address the cause not the symptoms? so is Avraham Burg the one you admire, and because I can distinguish between addressing a wrong doing to solve it, and addressing a wrong doing to use it as an excuse for more wrong doing.

how can you admire the above, and in the same breath say this:

did you really read the article? did you read the first paragraph?

There is a little minor detail you left out of your nice argumentation:
The missile experiment was not for the benefit of science or of humanity. The missile experiment was for missiles that will point at my city. I hope that you can understand my joy that it failed. I really hope that you can understand that I seek the well-being of my family, before I seek the well-being of the illiterate syrian villagers. wouldn't you?

I laugh on the "gas explosion" (underlined, and appears in the title), which reminds me of Radio Baghdad reports during the two gulf wars. The Arab regimes can be very creative:) I did not laugh about the innocent lives lost, nothing to laugh about there. Imagine the cruelty of the people who conducted this experiment: in a modern country, you always take the "worst case scenario", double it twice, and act according to this to prevent such a case from happening. The arab regimes (and the palestinians), never put the lives among their own people in the equation to calculate the benefit of this or that action. This is the tragedy.

p.s. Imad, try to relate to the topic of the thread. Until then, I will keep ignoring you. I scan your posts for the word "Syria". If not found - I ignore.
Would be nice to hear what do you think about the disaster in Syria. This is the topic of the thread, and despite 4 posts, you did not relate even a single word to it. If you have good or bad things to say about Israel, jews, zionism, and chocolate lollipops, start a new thread and I will do my best to contribute.
