OK guys, whats the truth regarding article marketing? Some say its great, and some say its no longer effective. Does anyone care to share some real life experiences? What works and what doesn't?
IF it is quality content that webmasters would find convinient to paste onto their websites gladly, then it is a great way to build backlinks organically...
Right. I have only submitted one article so far, so I can't fairly judge its effectiveness. That's why I made this thread; is it worth writing and submitting them?
I've had some of my articles put on some pretty good sites that were relevant to mine and gotten visitors as well.
I have as well. I mainly use a little article marketing for building links.. traffic can be nice and useful, but it helps me most with links.
I don't think whether or not the backlinks show up in Google are a good indicator if they are quality links or not.
You're right. Although having backlinks in Google helps me with the google serps, which translates into traffic. I could however be wrong.
Yes, you're right, quality backlinks are key for ranking in the SERPs. I was just pointing out that when you try to look up backlink in Google using "link:www.example.com", they don't really show you all the backlinks out there. You aren't really sure if the links that are being shown are the ones that are considered to be of higher quality in Google than the ones they don't show.
Yea, I've always wondered about that. That's why I was wondering if any show up in the backlinks (Google). Who knows.
I have 189 backlinks in google for a site. About 180 of those links are from the site I'm doing the backlink check on! Google doesn't show most of my backlinks. You never know the true quality of a backlink.
Just slightly off track for a sec, if your writing an article to host on other sites & your hosting it on your own site aswell...sometimes the big G gets things twisted and won't know the original source of the article...their duplicate content filter isn't as good as msn's & yahoo...any1 else find this? Back on subject though, google always seems to show less backlinks than the other two big players, nevertheless your articles should be able to bring in some quality links & traffic. good luck!
hehe. The one article I have been submitting is not found on my site to avoid this duplicate filter. I just wonder if article marketing is still "in"?
Are you promoting any of the sites that are listed in your sig? If so, then 1 article would be a drop in the ocean compared with what you need before there is any real visible impact on your sites. For finance sites you will need to distribute at least 50 articles [prob closer to 100] that are worthy of being posted on your own site. ie. Quality articles. There is no point actually spamming the article banks as the links you will receive are ok, but what you should be targeting is them being picked up by other webmasters. Hope that helps
I have achieved a top 5 ranking for the term "business voip" and "voip" for one my clients in both yahoo and google. So, yes it works. However, you should employ additional SEO strategies to help increase rankings and not rely on article marketing only. If you are writing articles as part of your blog marketing strategy, I wouldn't necessarily post the entire article on your blog. Rather, I would write a paragraph or two explaining why you wrote the article and then link to it on one of the directories; perhaps Buzzle.com or Ezinearticles.
Yes, show a different (better) version of the article on your own site to be safe. Article marketing is still effective but its not going to have amazing effects. The best thing is to contact sites in your niche and ask them to publish the articles (pay them if you have to) as well as submitting to article directorys.
If it's the voip service provider in your client list I don't see them the top 1000 for voip. - Michael
Michael look again - search google "voip, voip service, voip provider, business voip" and they are there, in some cases number 1. 8th one down.
