No Impressions, no clicks nada??

I'm quite new to adwords and have had ads running for about a week but there is still no activity what so ever, no clicks and no impressions.

I checked the keywords and every single keyword said it was not triggering the ad even though they all got a good quality score. I increased the daily budget and increased the budget per keyword to what it recommended but still nothing for days.

I tried the diagnostic tool but all that tells me is, new keywords may take a couple of minutes to update or the system might be down.

I mailed adwords support but what i read about them is they take weeks to get back to you.

can anybody tell me if i'm missing something??

It should not take you a weak for ads to be approved -- is it a new account?

I wouldn't do that, personally. I am new to AdWords, too, but from what I've read, the system is designed to get you to pay more per click early on.

I have gone at most 2 days without any impressions/clicks showing but then when my account finally updated, there were way more of both that could have happened in the short time between when I checked.

Try making a new Ad Group that just does Search; you won't need to wait for approval for those and you can see if anything changed.

Yea, It's a new account. Only created it about a week back and made the ad's at the same time.

When you say to make a new ad that just does search.
Do you mean to uncheck the content network and just leave the search Google box checked?

Exactly. But rather than uncheck the other 2 boxes, just make an exact copy of the ad and use the Google search only. This should increase your quality score because CTR on the other 2 options is low relative to the Google search.

When creating a new ad group. I can't see where you get to choose search only. Only after i have created it, can i get into the settings that allow me to uncheck content.

Sorry if i'm being a bit dumb.:(

No, you are correct. Create the new one, and set the new ad for search only. Don't delete the old one, just pause it or let it keep running as content only.

Sometimes it can help to increase your daily campaign limit to 10 times what you expect to pay, as you will very rarely spend close to anywhere near your limit. However, if you do this, you have to watch your campaigns very closely, as in theory, it is possibly for you to reach your daily limit, but this will rarely occur. The other thing it could be is that the keywords you are bidding on just don't get much traffic - or they get too much traffic and there is too much competition - you should be able to type them into Google and if your ad is running, you should be able to see it. If not, there is something wrong...

OK, i tried what Clobbersaurus recommended and created a new ad with just search only box clicked but still not a single click or impression and it still says my keywords are not triggering the ad for every keyword but i did get a e-mail back from adwords support which simply just told me that my account is under review as it's a new account and thats all it said.

Been nearly a week and half since i created the account. Anybody know how long the review takes??

How do i know when the review has finished??

Be more patient. I didn't wait that long though. I guess few more days and you'll be up and running.

Dan, I haven't seen your ad so I don't know but are you using a registered trademark in your ad? Adwords has a policy about that.

I use one or two in mine today but when I first started they delayed everything for over a week without any sort of news from them concerning why.

At first they disapproved it but they gave me the email of the trademark company's intellectual property department who ultimately gave me permission.

You're under review - contact adwords support - this should hurry things along a bit

You should also ensure that you do not advertise things like warez or other illegal downloads, etc.
