I want to know if Iam playing on domain how many keywords that it would take ? I put more than 40 keywords for the same domain on my other site as anchor text to strengthen them am i ok ? or i had to choose three or four keywords only ? keywords i chosed are not found too much on my site
You want to aim for between 4 and 5 % kw density. If you use firefox... go to the addon section and get "Foxy SEO Tool" plug in. It is fantastic for analyzing your page. Nick.
4-5% keyword density??? Are you daft? You need a little more than that bud. FYI to get good rankings you need: a) unique content that has the keywords you are ranking for; b) inbound links that use the anchor text for those keywords you are trying to rank for.
Stop worrying about keyword density. If you don't pack keywords so that it gets annoying to your readers, and use your keyword naturally you will have a good keyword density.
Okay, it sounds like you've done some keyword research as well as a basic competitive analysis and have found some "juicy" keywords to target, but weren't able to get them into your pages. Yet they also are relatively easy to rank for and you want to do so by acquiring links that point back to your pages that contain those "left out" keywords. Is that correct? If so, here's what I'd do. Look at the keywords you ARE using, compare them to the ones you are not but want to rank for, and see which of the two sets contain the same keywords (such as "women's shoes" on one side and "affordable designer women's shoes" on the other). For the ones that match, use the search term that has the extra words as your anchor text. Not only will you start ranking for the keywords that are not on your pages, but you'll also improve the rankings for those keywords that ARE. (In case you're wondering, this is called "staged promotion".)
1% - 2% keyword density is good. More keywords can backfire SERP. Although there's no limit described by any search engine, but using too much keywords can lead to spammy site.
I think 2%-5% is about right. Much more than that is keyword stuffing. I agree that worrying about this is the wrong way to go though. Just talk to your guests as you normally would talk. Also use "related" words instead of just your keywords. The best thing is to check on your top ranking competition and see what they are doing. I bet you will find that most have around 2% density.
I would recommend not exceeding 1.5 %. Keep it natural. Make someone read it. If it's spammy - please rewrite it.
I would agree that keywords should be around the range of 2%... instead of worrying about density, you should consider other keywords equivalent, those that are set by search engines. They are like synonyms.. something like that.. SE loves it... you can do a search for your keyword equivalent by search google with a "~" before your keyword. google will automatically give you keywords equivalents for every keyword you typed with a "~" prefix.
I've always been told to write for your readers and the keyword density will come naturally and won't look spammy.
oh... this is a big problem... in my opinion, almost 2%--4% keyword density that will be good. but it depends on your article content.
