Islamic scholars haven't been able to prove faith freedom wrong, they publish debates on their website, and are offering $50,000 if you can. You're right though they are anti-Islamic, otherwise they wouldn't have become apostates.

I do not even think Islamic scholars even care who is faith freedom and what do they say.

The point is clear, if you need correct information you go to the source, if you want to learn English correctly you go and learn it from English teachers not Arabic teachers and inversely, then after learning the info correctly from the source, you can go and compare it with other sources and then you would know which is correct and which is false info :)

Meh, not so much. Sure, if I wanted to learn how my computer works, a computer technician would be a good source of information. People dealing in facts or logic, tend to be less biased. They are open, in fact would most likely welcome conflicting information, so that they can investigate it. It's not the same with religious people, as they are an extremely biased source of information. They are like used car salesmen, their main goal is to sell you the car.

LOL. I'm dying of laughter when I meet this type of rubbish.... another example

But I did learn a new thing from this thread:
in the first movie, 2:53, moore says that the Muhammed was illiterate.
    Never even thought about that......
Considering that the other two imaginary figures of Moses who "came" 4000 years before Mohammed and was not illiterate (in debate), and Jesus who "came" 1,400 years before Mohammed was surely not illiterate, I think that pretty much accounts for ... you know what ;)

Embryology and the Qur'an ~ The "miracle" claims regarding the Quran, don't seem to have much substance.

I think, people should refrain from posting threads like this.. They just cause some unnecessary arguments.

As i just reported one of the guys. If someone likes to share something about his/her religion then let it be, does it cause any harm to you? As this guy posted here:

If you guys dont want to participate positively in the community then just dont frkin post!

from Dr. Sharif Kaf Al-Ghazal great scientific account on embryos, right up the first page:
This is by far one of the strongest scientific works I have ever read. I will recommend it for the next Nobel committee. ;)

More gemstones for Dr. Al Ghazal website.

I stopped looking for gemstones after I realized that most links in the website are broken....

    This is hilarious.

Dodara, look at the link you provided me with. At the very beginning under historical background. The point they want to drive across is that science did not suspect that reproduction was caused by "man’s fluid and woman’s fluid." until the 18th century. They basically start with trying to discredit science, and give all credit to Muhammad. From your site it says
This is false, let's start with that. Galen knew this before Muhammed, as his work was known to Muhammed. Read about what Galen thought, and see how it's close to what Muhammed said:

As an added fact, did you know "Aristotle correctly described an embryo of this age as well as the function of the umbilical cord, by which the embryo "clings" to the uterus wall in the fourth century B.C.?" The credible source you've provided, doesn't seem so credible.

Rebecca, we are the joke here. We are trying to speak words of reason to people motivated by blind faith, not by false reasoning. false reasoning can be "fixed", blind faith can not.

I wonder how come that the quran know "so much" about anatomy embryo's etc', but is not aware of something every housewife knows today, no need to be a professor: Various diseases are transfered from one person to another through blood contact. This includes HIV, Hepatitis, herpes, and dozens of other non-curable infectious diseases. :)

p.s. the picture is from the shiite-muslim ceremony of Ashoura, and the reason for the (terrible) picture is the three bolded words. The shiite muslims symbolize the suffering they have been put through with this yearly ceremony.
A very scientific and progressive religion indeed. Now I go to look for a scientific explanation in "islamicmedicine.org" for the scientific proven benefits of the bizarre ceremony.....

you'd have to be mentally ill to attack yourself with a butchers knives. At least it makes a change from the norm in islam, to attack someone else with a butchers knife.

Yes and No Stox. This is the magic of religion. If its a single person - he is a nut case. But if everybody does that - that's honorable.
The people in the picture have dopamine levels like drug addicts. They are in huge pleasure and don't feel the pain. It is the power of the "togetherness" that makes people make completely insane stuff and feel exhilirated about it, and this is also the biological mechanism which is abused by religions.
Last time I visited the grave church in Jerusalem, I looked at the people crawling on the floor and licking the filthy water from a cross near where jesus is believed to be crusified - and it looked pretty much the same.
This is not a "muslim" thing.

p.s. for the Ashoura, they usually utilize beat themselves with a whip until the bleed. Rarely a butcher's knife is used. ;)
