PHP RSS Feed Not Updating in Reader

I created an RSS feed using PHP and when I put it into my Google Reader it displayed 10 items, as it normally does. However, since then updates have been added with my cron job and the Google Reader has not updated the feed. I have validated it and everything.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

maybe you're not waiting long enough for it to update, or perhaps there's a setting somewhere to set update-time? i know browsers such as Opera like to cache the same content for ages until it decides to update 'when it feels like it' :p

I am noticing now it updates but it checks the feed once every few hours. Is there a setting to put update time to every 30 minutes in xml/rss?

    In the xml/rss feed? no.
In the browser (depending)? yes. (often times the visitor can have it refresh manually).

I think the idea is so that you don't get a crapload of traffic refreshing your feed too often (like having a few thousand people checking your feed every couple of minutes over a span of half an hour.
