PayPal for person to person transfers

Basically I need some PayPal cash soonish, in a week or so, and was intending to offer my services here on DP writing articles, blog commenting, forum posting etc. I just wondered whether I would have to pay any PayPal fees during the transfer of small transactions of say $1-$10 for example from other people?

I have had a look around PayPal's site and can't really find the info I need.

If I have to pay any fees (which really doesn't make the work worthwhile in the amounts I'll be earning) is there any alternative? How about Alertpay?

    Hope somebody can help!

Yes u have to pay fees for even small amounts unless the payment is sent as personal payment in this case the fees are less or totally nil

typically you will end up paying roughly 5% of the total payment. Depending on sender, they can choose to pay the fees for you.

Thanks for your help guys, though it says on the PayPal website that personal transfers are:

"Free when the money comes from PayPal balance or bank account."

So I guess as long as I get people to pay me from their PayPal accounts there'll be no fee?

I agree with the "try it" approach.

Mostly, they charge fees. But when I got paid by associated content for some miniscule amounts (or even for amounts of a few dollars each) I was concerned that the fees would eat it up, but interestingly enough, there was NO fee deducted.

Maybe they paid the fee? Or there are exceptions for certain types of transactions:? Who knows.

I have heard that if you have a private and a business account, that you can use the private account to send money for no fees (see above -- only from balance and checking account).
