    You need to do some keyword research. Think of what words are used in your websites area of interest. Than use the Google adwords keywords tool and do some research on which one are actually used.

    Depending on the industry.

    For me there are few:

    1. Long tail
    2. Short Phrases
    3. Competitive
    4. Single word

    If you prepare all the stages of your SEO properly you will be able to achieve rankings for single word very competitive terms

    Just the types of keywords people actually use when searching for something on their search engine of choice.

    You don't just need to do keyword research, you need to learn how to conduct a proper comeptitive keyword analysis to determine the ideal keywords to target. All keyword research will do is give you a list of keywords -- it won't tell you if they're worth targeting at all.
