Ok guys here goes. I created a website back in January, fitness related, and I created a blog.. www.websitename.com/blog , and all that is on the website is "Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging" ......and this is dated January 3rd 2009. I must confess that I was lazy in posting regularly. Now, I have recently got my hands on 213 fitness PLR articles and I want to put them on the blog section of the site, I do not want to post from today's date as persons will see and may wonder why has he not posted anything new since January 3rd? I want the blog to look updated and fresh. I want to know if it possible to back date my posting on this blog to January 3rd and begin to post from that date to todays date...I know there must be a way to do that...what is it? Is there a software? I think the site has potential but how do I do this without raising any red flags from google. I have read that you can post to your blog via email..but to post from months ago....I dont know.. Thanks guys....
Grab a date exclusion plug in and just remove all the dates. I do this on a lot of sites. If the date isnt' there then it won't matter. You can look at my marketing site InternetMarketingIQ.com and you'll see no dates unless I intentionally include them in an article. For a lot of what I do dates are not relevant. This is the plug in I'm using: http://bluecowhosting.com/blog/wordpress-plugins/date-exclusion-seo-plugin/ It's free and working fine in WP 2.8.3 You also have options to remove dates from selective parts of your site like your homepage.
Ditto. I was going to suggest the same plug in. I don't know of another for WP. If you use TypePad, you cna post easily in the past or future. Alex
Ok,,,thank you.,... So just install the plug-in ..then I can begin posting my articles.....thats it. Ok I will give it a try and report back here....
Well when you make new post you have on option in your Admin Control panel in right side on new posting page like this "Publish immediately". You can just edit it and change the date whatever you want! Also it's good if you chance Permalinks to /%postname%/. It will be better for you in Google too!
Just a note, but it from what I saw on the site it doesn't say anything about the search and archives page.
