    here is the problem, why would i follow you (whats in it for me). You have to offer incentives or value to potential subscribers. people dont just wake up and decide we are going to join a mailin list today, you must compell them to join.

    I prefer Networked blogs on Facebook. It's a much better system of followers and you can publish your blogs direct to people's FB feed. Plus you can get all your real friends to give you thumbs up!

    Google folow (indeed Google social media in general) is so lacking and behind the times that it's just terrible. I mean, look at the mess of sharing in Google Reader. No, Google has a way to go to persuade me that their social media system is worth using.

    Oh look, yesterday Google improved their sharing features on Google Reader, letting you share posts on Facebook, Twitter and Delicious.
