How to improve my blog ranking in Google?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by tvtinh, Aug 10, 2009.

I know it is a silly question but my blog previously (one month ago) had about 75% traffic from Gooogle but now I have only 47%, it is going down.

The blog updates every day and content is unique but do not know how it decreases dramatically.

How can i do? Is that common issue as I heard that Google is changing the way to crawl website?

Are you doing any SEO and SERP work to ensure you are staying above the competition? Are you targeting competitive keywords? There are lots of reasons why you may not be seeing the same SE traffic as before.

Google is always chaning the way they rank pages. I would no worry about a shift in traaffic. From what you are saying, your traffic from Google decreased, not your overall traffic. This means people are finding your blog through other sources other than the search engines, or google for that matter.

To increase traffic post frequently, good, keyword rich content. Make it for humans not spiders and your blog will be a success

Build more links to your site, be active on your niche's community, make friends, ask them to link to your blog ;-)

You don't need to update your blog manually every day - presuming that's what you are doing?

Spend 50% of your time getting backlinks - this is what will eventually get you a lot of traffic from Google. It's not uncommon for a new site to peak in Google and then drop off over time.

You need to cement your Google positions by increasing your page rank through backlinks. Long term, this is the only way.

    dear,
important thing is try to target proper keywords for your blog. if you make small mistake in placing keywords properly, then you rank might go down. do some SBM of your blog and also submit it to blog directories. for more details, please give some more information, so that i can tell you what exactly you need to do.

Get google.com/analytics and check which keyword delivers you traffic. Get more dofollow backlinks and increase serp ranking for this keywords for that particular page. It will increase your serp ranking and google traffic in long run. Try to concentrate more on targeted keywords in your niche and do more link building with anchored keyword.

I find that backlinks are more productive, even with older posts. The newer ones take a while to even get added and then they need to build up backlinks, so really work on that. Also, try to create a few evergreen posts, stuff that is not news or trendy, so that it will always get hits.
