I have learned everything I needed to know from webmaster forums such as this one. The knowlegde I have acquired has helped me achieve very good rankings for my site. I didn't know a thing about seo until I started in forums in January. That has just been my experience.

    Hello everyone!

    Well, it’s me actually!

I was a staff member at Bruce Clay Inc. (I ran his PPC team), have taught tens of thousands of people about Dreamweaver, Flash, and Director for Macromedia and hooked Lynda.com up with Corel Corp. to do the first ever Corel Painter and CorelDraw CDs.

The nine hour lynda.com series of SEO videos is targeted toward beginners for the most part. I have however received some really nice emails from experienced coders & programmers and they too seem to like the videos after watching them.

I'm working on the PPC series right now for Lynda.com.

My background is in the film industry.

My first web related training gigs were at the American Film Institute (AFI) where I taught hundreds of Hollywood professionals all about Macromedia Director and Shockwave.

I think it's OK to post my web site URL here?

    http://www.WebSearchEngineer.com.

Hope this gives you all a bit of insight into me. :)

    Richard

don't bother buying the book. You can find a boat load of info here. Of course there are also free SEO ebooks (Brad Callen has a good one) and then there are tons of white papers you can dload from iProspect and other well known seo firms.
