dont put any popup ads which will scare visitors away soon, thank about what they think, provide good quality content which they need, that can keep them stay a little longer and come back again later
well CRM software is to do with the management of relationships between supplier and client is it not? it just seems a tad ironic that your visitors are bouncing when you're pushing this kind of software. on the plus side though, i think your site looks great but you need to style it up more - that times new roman font is begging people to leave immediately!
Well, yes it is true that CRM software is for maintaining relationships with customers but my problem is how to turn visitors into customers. I do not know any CRM software that does that. But may be I am wrong and you will be able to enlighten me. Let me know. I would say that irony would have been if I was asking some help to maintain my relationship with existing customers. At the moment, I get customers through elance and word of mouth. I am trying to hire a marketer to spice up the website as I have great suggestions but do not know how to implement them. If you know someone who can help, please do not hesitate to refer. Thanks for your suggestion.
Our entire business (www.diamondhazelton.com) is about turning visitors into customers. We don't implement, but could refer you to people that do.
Targeted promotion - or targeted advertising will help lower your bounce rate. If you have a high bounce rate, chances are the people finding your site are not your targeted audience. Social bookmarking, expect about a 90% bounce rate from those sources. Google - my sites average between a 53% - 65% bounce rate from google. Yahoo - my sites average about a 25% bounce rate from yahoo. Youtube - averages about 18% - 28% bounce rate Portals - 8% - 18% bounce rate Youtube is my main forums #2 source of targeted traffic, referring about 4,000 - 6,000 people monthly to my forum. If your site has a high bounce rate, you really need to look at the sources of traffic, figure out what sources have the lowest bounce rate and focus on those sites.
sorry, i think you took my comment to heart - i was just having some fun (this forum is mighty dull most of the time). this thread inspired me to write this anyway: http://thewebstation.wordpress.com/2009/08/09/understanding-bounce-rate-and-how-to-reduce-it/
Think about holding off on hiring someone to improve your site. All you need are little tweeks here and there. Use the money you would pay to him to use for advertising. I think that is all you need, and, to get going on bringing in real traffic. Unless, of course, he doesn't charge that much, and he himself has a good converting site???
Look at your industry leaders, and see what they are doing. It's what your target audience is expecting, so why not make your sure your site is similar in techniques.
You are right. I am sorry. I have worked very hard to get this site on page 1 of Google and I am so stressed that if bounce rate is too high, Google will consider the site to be irrelevant to the keywords. Yeah, I am not making any hasty decisions. Will try to tweak on my own first. Thanks for the advice.
One of the greatest difficulties you have is credibility. You don't have a Value Proposition. Why should someone buy this from you instead of your many competitors? As Perry Rose says, you should be giving them very specific examples of how things work so that they can easily see it, instead of just saying "Here it is, buy it!"
