I was wondering what happens if you agree on a payment with someone in the content creation forums you fulfil what they ask and they don't pay you, is it all at our own risk or can DP do anything.

(sorry mods about this being in the wrong place I just can't find where to put it and thought it would get seen and moved quicker if posted here)

Well honestly BST is open area to do business and DP forums have no responsibility to solve issue. So it wise to do business at own risk. You can check history of person to get some idea.

    Rohit is correct.

If a deal goes bad you may factually post details of problem in sales thread and leave negative itrader. Remember only one itrader per deal. Itrader once given can not be reversed. For this reason it is best to be sure how the deal has gone down before leaving itrader.

the person in question has no itrader at all and a red overall rep but this could have just been minor infractions couldn't it? should I be worried, they are only a fairly new user so the itrader could be because this is their first time

Well as you are a service provider then always do business by taking some part of money at upfront so it will ensure you that he/she will not scam with you!

Yeah, 50% payment in advance kinda works.

A guy needed modifications to his wordpress theme. He gave me FTP info and told me to do the changes through his FTP. I asked him for a 50% advance payment. He paid me the 50% payment and I was assured that he wasn't a scammer. I completed all the work and then contacted him for the other 50% payment. He never paid me :x. But atleast, I got the 50%.

So even the 50% in advance thingy doesn't always work. But the best thing is that never deliver the stuff (files, artcles etc) until you get paid.

Red rep is opinions of other DP members, not necessarily anything to do with his business practice. Research his posts. I have often been the first to take a chance with the zero itrader, but - example - If I'm doing a ten article job for fifty dollars, I will send the first article and wait for some money before I continue with more. Don't jump in too deep, you know what I mean?

This is definitely a good idea, it's for a large amount of posts and a large amount of money.

I will make sure to take on your advice as well doing a bit at a time for small amounts of cash sounds sensible.

Thank you all the rest of you guys too for the fast and helpful responses
