Backlinks: The best possible way to build them and spend your time efficiently

In my opinion, and this takes work and a couple of programs that can help you, the best way to build backlinks and build your site as an authority is: high PR, DO FOLLOW, niche specific, anchored text, Blog comments.

    1. article marketing has fell really far down the totem pole. also more and more article websites are popping up every day, taking market share from the big guys. also spammers have tarnished all the top sites reputation so much that you can't link the articles to most social networks "this site url is a known spammer site and cannot be bookmarked". that right there kills article market.

    2. yahoo answers, to google, only counts as one website, OMG.

    3. twitter automatically truncates the url and it doesn't count as your url. so linking to a specific page of your blog/website with a url over say 12 characters is useless. and you can't anchor text in twitter. and trust me, you want to link every single post of your blog, or every single page of your website. you have to market every single page, not just the home page.

    4. social book marking: can't anchor text.

    5. press releases have nowhere near the clout that article marketing does, and article marketing isn't that good to begin with [see above]

    6. link exchange is nearly considered spamming and often cancels each other out.

    7. 3 way link exchanges is considered black hat, see 6.

    8. purchased banners or links is completely considered spam, and google expressly says they don't like it.

    9. links on pages with 100,000,000 other links is not counted at all. in fact it could hurt you. be careful where you link, you could be de-indexed.

If you were to spend an hour on any of these 9 items, but instead spent that hour on commenting on blogs [with my rules for what blogs above] high PR, DO FOLLOW, niche specific, anchored text, you would be far far far more productive in building a backlink empire.

In fact if you provided wonderful content in comments on high PR blogs, your comment could become viral. And, viral, boys and girls, is what we all wish our work to achieve.

Remember google is searching for: the most relevant; authoritative; linked to; content rich websites for each keyword. If you have done your homework on your blog / website and then have 100,000,000,000 high pr blogs pointing to it: YOU WIN :D:D:D

In fact google loves blogs. They love them so much, they trust them more than the big sites. Because this is the stuff people are talking about. That's what google wants, the stuff people are talking about.

If you go to google trends and click on one keyword, you'll get a page with News articles on one side, AND blogs on the other side. So in google's eyes, blogs are equal to news outlets.

Blog commenting is time consuming for me because I actually read the post before I comment on it, but I think it's worth the effort for the dofollow backlinks alone. Don't waste your time with the nofollow comment blogs unless the blog gets high traffic and you might get some traffic to your site.

The problem is that I rarely find good do follow blogs to comment on. And if I do find a do follow blog, its probably spammed with comments.

As for blog commenting I suggest using comment hunt to find blogs.

I don't think I would be able to find enough do follow blogs in my niches to post an hour a day.

    Hi,
I agree with you. I seems to be doing a bit of everything but I don't get the effectiveness. I guess I should concentrate on blog commenting. Thanks for the tips.

if you want to see whether a page is do follow or no follow go get seo quake. Its a free addon to firefox. When you install it follow the instructions and you should be on you way in no time.

Personally I don't think article marketing is that tarnished. This is my first post so I wont say much but I've been around article marketing for sometime now like anything you only fall if you can't adapt and figure out new ways to do it. There are heaps of things you can do to get your articles up in google.

SeoQuake is really good as it shows a lot of information about the webpage, not only do- or no-follow links.

to Las Vegas DUI Lawyer: thanks for the post!

Thank, great site. I have already "hunted" some blogs and made some comments - of course only on topic so it takes some time but I belive it is worth it.

So what is a quick way to do this? Use one of those blog commenting programs that cost 50 bucks?

Nice post my man. The problem is hunting these down as many do run as nofollow. I even think Blogger settings have now been standardised as nofollow; not sure how many people bother to change this. Of course using a great Firefox addon like NoDoFollow is a great tool to quickly find them.

Try also using the following query in Google to find edu/gov blogs...

google can figure out when a link comes from a comment field, and I would expect them to discount the value of blog comment spam, it only makes sense not to give much value, if any
