PayPal allow sellers to sell stolen software

    Hi all,

I am shocked as I just find out that PayPal closed a dispute I claimed about stolen software I "bought" online...

I was looking for a script and found it in google first page, went inside the site and purchased it using PayPal.
just to make sure, the site says nothing about it being "nulled", so I fall into the trap..

after payment was verified I got a link to download the software from 'rapidshare' website, I was surprised but after downloading it I also noted that the script proudly says "NULLED" all over it.

    PayPal answer was:
is PayPal allow selling stolen software and we have to accept it or is there anything I can do?
I was thinking that PayPal should save me with the dispute system but I guess I was totally wrong..

Paypal doesn't care about intangible goods.

I hate to say it, but your out of luck.

Best you can do is name and shame the person here.

This is why I don't buy software, unless it's directly from the vendor.

BTW, you should know DP is the WORST place to buy scripts. Haven't you been reading the threads?

Also, didn't DP implement a new rule, if someone is selling pirated scripts. Then they will be banned for life? You might want to report the user to a mod with proof.

If you payed through Paypal via Credit or Debit card, you can file a chargeback with your issuer. Otherwise, as posted above you're probably out of luck.

Paypal can be little assholes sometimes, they seem to NEVER go in favour of the seller in disputes resolving around digital goods. They seem to not care about dealing with digital goods at all!

    thx guys for your answers
I found the seller's site outside DP (google..) so I dont know if the owner is a DP member.

well, I guess I am out of luck this time and just have to forget about it and move on,
at least I know which payment gateway we should use if we want to sell stolen digital products ;)

Look at it this way. You filed a dispute and it GOES into his record. It will add up and then Paypal will have HOLDS on his account, due to a large amount of disputes. So he will have some locked funds every so often.

Personally, like I said earlier BUY software from vendors.

Its not the problem of paypal to clear problems for the stolen software ..better find that guy and ask for refund.
